funny that man nga naman,.. even in his article on C! mag's 'Counter Flow', kulet ng mga hirit nya ehh,..I remember when he's introducing himself sa [I]'Counter Flow'[I], eto nilagay nyang bio:
Name: James Deakin
Age: 30
Height: 6'1
***:ALREADY DONE! => natawa ko dito ehh,.. obvious namang lalake! hehe!![]()

Names are so people will remember. Instead of talking of the qualitative difference of Petron #4 - 96 RON and Shell #3 - 95 RON, we're comparing "Blaze" and "Velocity" (Oh, I'm guilty of buying brand names, yes... but the way I drive...).
Nice article. I've been a long-time fan of Deakin. Too bad not all the writers at C! are as forthright, nor is C! more open about their criticisms of manufacturers... see the Sideswipe articles...
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Great article nga...
Regarding the names, just remember, tamad ang pinoy (and other 3rd world nations), sa 1st world kanya-kanya ang pagpump ng gas... hehe.
.
Still, it's a game of marketing strategies! Just imagine how much lower the prices will be without those ads!!!
.
parang alam ko 'to ahWhat about a bolt on fuel saving device?
Forget it.
There are many after market fuel saving devices that claim to save you 50% on fuel, clean the air, eradicate hunger in Africa and get Brad and Jennifer back together. Be afraid. Be very afraid. They work on the premise of introducing more air into the mixture and by bypassing key components in the fuel management system. Wow, why didn’t we think of that?![]()
I know what octane rating is. I just want to know the rating of the gas in the Philippines whether is 95RON, 93RON, etc.
Ako rin kaya pwede sumulat article - technical about fuel qualities, analysis, blending, operations, production planning at trading hehe....
Ano kaya qualifications hehe?
aromatics: By all means write an article its open to anyone who can convey facts that will be beneficial to our little online community here, only if you can provide the FACTS and only FACTS no B.S. please we have enough of that already.
Synthetic oil is more lubricant and has higher viscosity breakdown resistance compared to regular oil that is why you get better mileage when you use it. Also, by using synthetic oil the wear and tear on the internals of your engine is less because of it's viscosity and it's ability to reduce friction, less friction = less resistance when your pistons move in the cylinder.

You're welcomeI knew some of this crap in my head would be used someday.
Thats why I stopped buying their mags, first sentence pa lang .... well nevermindOn a side note, TG seems to be heading towards the "being chummy with manufacturers/sponsors way; a lot of the writers before were people we could relate with and usually chat with at informal car meets or get to know on the online sites... now i'm seeing a good number of the industry oldies going on board (beep beep na lang, this is just an opinion).

whoops... I just noticed I accidentaly deleted part of my previous message reply (yung na-quote ni ilovedetailing). :POriginally Posted by ghosthunter
The first post-Mike Black issue had a lot of horn blowing already (i think almost all the letters published were the congratulatory letters of manufacturers to the new EIC if i recall it right). Then the first editor's note was that of TG having to be made by "Automotive Journalists" rather than car enthusiasts... a complete irony from the last editors note of Mike Black on the magazine being one for car enthusiasts; by car enthusiasts![]()
There's still room for improvement within... as always.
Flagg: the synths here wouldnt be as cost-effective due to our driving conditions (traffic, humidity, dust, etc) which does make the oil and engine more susceptible to being dirty... the synth oil can maintain it's original properties longer than mineral oil but the dirt contamination is still there (thats why its advised to change at least your oil filter at the 5000km mark pa rin if you extend your drain interval with synths).
I usually gas up in two stations only as much as possible even if the price is not exactly the lowest... keeps things consistent and it's on my regular route. My goal nowadays is not to get the cheapest fuel or to get one with the best advertised mileage but more on maximizing my trips and making my driving habits as fuel efficient as possible in the normal driiving conditions.
