Meron akong napanood noon sa BBC tungkol sa vegetable oil. It happened sa UK na the grocery owners were surprised bakit biglang naging mabili yong cooking oil. Then yon nga na discover nila na may mga diesel car owners na gusto maka tipid, mix nila sa diesel ang cooking oil. Daming nahuli bawal daw dahil di maganda ang emission ng car.
The enforcers were called the "frying squad" daw

Actually, veggie oil has cleaner emissions, and it is legal in the UK to use it as fuel. What's illegal is not paying taxes when it is used as fuel. Here's the story.

Try mo mag search sa http://www.eyp.com.ph (search by keyword). Isang example na pwede is:

    Beta Chemicals
    32 S. Santos Street
    Sto. Rosario
    1600 Pateros, Philippines

    TELEPHONE
    6410953; 6410960; 6415867

Based sa writeup nila meron silang Methanol, Caustic Soda, etc.

    BTW, check mo ito:

some pajero owners in the UK are running about 3:1 diesel to veggie oil, oks naman daw, yun lang, they'd need a heater in the cold weather.

ifontok: sa yellow pages halos lahat ng chemical company carry methanol and potassium hydroxide(KOH).

on a large-scale operation, as in mini-refinery size, maging profitable kaya ito? i'm thinking jollibee, mcdo, kfc, and other fastfood chains as main sources of the oil -- they have to put that oil somewhere!

and do they pay for its disposal? think of it - you get paid to take their oil, you spend some money to process it into usable fuel, then sell it to other people.

    ...anyone into waste management here?

corbon44: you would be suprised that unlike in the US, WVO is being sold here by fast food chains!

Hello...i'm also researching the use of veggie oil in diesel engines. i came across a story in the net that a certain Tony Deamer of the Republic of Vanuatu, South Pacific Ocean (a tropical country same as ours) who has been running his diesel vehicles with coconut oil (not biodiesel)...just in case you want to read this article, type "Tony Deamer Vanuatu" and several websites will open for you to select...happy reading.

yes it is true you can use used cooking oil in your diesels only if you are using the injection pump types not the crdi daw, have been using it since i have a friend who supplies me 60 liters a week and so far have consumed average of 40 liters a week although it saves you money it just lacks a little power i mean you really can note the less in pull but the car still climbs and pulls just that you will notice a drop in pull. Have used it pure, mixed whatever ratios. Started with 1.5 liters to 4 liters thats when diesel was only at less than 30 thats why it 1.5 liter per bottle per fill up of 100 peso diesel, but recently madmax168 tried hundred percent and it was okay daw so increased ratio sometimes i do run 100 when fuel is low so pour it in until i get to a station, hehehe for those interested tried it on a besta 2.7 , 2c fx, kia pregio, pajero 93 , and a 98 space gear, well so far they are all ok and yup using a high ratio of oil does clean out the carbon cause there is no more sulfur to burn and which creates the foul smell and the big amount of carbon. So it is safe, some would ask how safe okay the fx is still in the 150kms and still original state of injector the besta accumulated severl thousand of kms well used it with oil of 30 % to laoag had injectors repaired since it developed a leak as in it drips diesel so had to have gasket replaced and calibrated cost of 3000pesos the pregio and pajero space gear still in ok condition. But in case any of you guys do intend to filtering the oil is the hardest buy a .1 micron water filter and force it thru however i just juse a 1 micron well the filter in the vans are just 5 microns according to manufacturers specs so i guess its safe but even in 1 microns there will be this brownish liquid like or fine almost ash like particles still so just pour the oil carefully not to include the brown liquid like ash . But then if diesel gets back to below 30 then its not worth it, by the way have talked to mc do have a hard time getting thier oil have not tried jollibee thou

    Hi to all members

I am starting a small personal project. but i need your help guys.
first of all my project is all about recycling of used fryer oil from restaurants and alike. i planned for this project a year ago after i saw it on cable(discovery). im starting with a small diesel engine, a Yanmar L40 powering a small 2kva generator and eventually to my car if the project successful and if using it for long term will not harm the engine. all are set and ready but one problem is the used oil itself. im having a hard time convincing people and showing the potential of this alternative fuel. if you happen to know someone who collect used oil from fast food chains pls let me know maybe i can get oil from them. i know it is for sale at least i can start with it. and hope that they sell it for alot less than what i canvassed. i was informed by the manager of a certain fastfood chain that their used oil is being collected and they dont sell it from outsiders.(a dead end for me). and those collectors are hired by their franchisee. I hope you can help me and thank you for reading my post

hmm...why not figure out who these collectors are, then buy from them? although most probably the price would be a bit higher than when you bought straight from the resto.

imho, the bigger fast food chains are like that -- lots of strict protocols. pero madami pa naman mga kainan diyan.
