I was in Bangkok when I saw this at CNN.

Imagine this instead of pumping gasoline or diesel you pump you car with AIR.

    Zero - Pollution

    70 miles-per-hour

All existing gas station will just have to equipt themselves with a dedicated compress air line for AirCars.

The inventor has already a running unit when it was featured in CNN and he was able to sell 20 license already world wide.

Price is estimated to be $6,500.00 ONLY

This is the cheapest Zero Emission passenger car to date.

    Air powered Car

you'll find out that local gas stations will be selling compressed air for P20.00 a liter.

hehehe. oks lang sana kung P20.00/liter kung mataas din ang mileage for each liter.

Di kaya maoofset lang rin sa electricity consumption para sa compressor?

well, you can produce compressed air from alternative sources of power including solar power, wind power, water wave power.

"green" depends on how you generate that compressed air for your air-powered car. Compressing air still requires power from somewhere.

dapat taken into account nga rin yan... kung how much energy is used up to compress air...

pati, ilang kilometers ba before maubos ang compressed air mo? and hindi ba parang dangerous ang compressed air???

compressed air is less dangerous than gasoline or even LPG or CNG or even hydrogen.

Guys this is being shown at CNN tonight Feb. 8 ............ 9.00pm GLOBAL CHALLENGES.

Green car are near Zero Emission Cars.

Hybrid or Electric or FuelCell Cars are also Green Cars.

One could always argue that cost of producing Air Power Green Cars is far more cheaper compare to the above mention Green Cars.

It's a question of Economics. But in my opinion this Air Power Car is one of the cheapes way to run and maintain a vehicle.

economics-wise, a hybrid gasoline-electric car is the best way to run & maintain a vehicle.

gasoline-electric car: front wheels driven by a 1.0 liter (or other small sized engine) and rear wheels driven by an electric motor/regenerator located in each wheel hub. A bank of storage batteries would be stored in the center tunnel.

The Hybrid gasoline-electric engine sells about $20,000.00 in the US but this price is due to incentives and subsidy of the Gov't so the real cost is far more expensive.

On the other hand the Air-power car on sells $6,500.00 without any subsidy yet. Easily this is 400% more cheaper than the Hybrid cars.

Hybrid cars will still have some emission but compare to air-powered cars this would be Zero.

The one shown in CNN will be out in the market by end of the year or early 2005.

They design the vehicles that allows owners to recharge the air at their homes or just go to the gasoline station with air compressors.

The good thing about this car is it's not only Enviromentally Feasible but Economically Viable.

The cars concept was design by an Ex-Formula 1 engineer.

    MDI = Moteur Developpment International.

    AirCar

    Check out their site.

    With Airbags, ABS and Airconditining.

200 to 300km per full tank of compress air.

Recharging at a air station is only 3 minutes.

Recharges at home during evenings for 4 Hours.

    The Air Filter

The MDI engine works with both air taken from the atmosphere and air pre-compressed in tanks. Air is compressed by the on-board compressor or at service stations equipped with a high-pressure compressor.

Before compression, the air must be filtered to get rid of any impurities that could damage the engine. Carbon filters are used to eliminate dirt, dust, humidity and other particles which, unfortunately, are found in the air in our cities.

This represents a true revolution in automobiles - it is the first time that a car has produced minus pollution, i.e. it elimates and reduces existing pollution rather than emitting dirt and harmful gases. The exhaust pipe on the MDI cars produces clean air, which is cold on exit (between -15º and 0º) and is harmless to human life. With this system the air that comes out of the car is cleaner than the air that went in.

By the way one full tank of air cost around $2.00 or 112.00 pesos that can run 200kms to 300kms it's like Php0.37 to Php0.56 centavos per km.

The range is dependent on the speed. At 50 km/p/h the range is over 300 km. At 100 kmh it is reduced to one third of that. In an urban environment the car can run for upto 10 hours.
