    1) rav4 2001 - 4x4 top of the line-
    black
    mileage is 100k

    worth 470k

    2) xtrail 2005 -4x2 200X-
    red
    mileage is 60k
    fully set up
    worth 450k

    from the specs...

I would choose the x-trail... For three reasons, price, mileage and the year of ownership.

Given the choices, I'd pick the X-Trail. Four years difference is a long time. Since you're looking at this class you probably don't need full time 4WD so it will just be a burden on your gas bills. Besides, the Rav4 has a low ground clearance and its exhaust is placed very near the ground so it really doesn't have much offroading potential at all. Besides, it's got very limited space inside. The X-Trail, on the other hand is newer, cheaper and roomier.

offroad capable, better interior IMO, no wheel blocking your rear view...

    Nissan X-Trail.

    Good off-roader IMO.

But not so good Fuel Consumption. Hehe Based on actual usage.

The X-Trail isn't capable off road, the one the TS is looking at is the 4x2 variant. FC shouldn't be that bad, at least since its got the 2.0 liter engine. And if I'm not mistaken, its the venerable SR20DE engine. Great for mods!

    AFAIK it's QR20DE..

If the TS is looking for a 4X2, then he should buy the X-Trail 200, not the 200X.

Though I'm generally more inclined to go for a Toyota, the X-trail has got the RAV4's number on this. 4 years and 40,000 kms more used (and abused), the X-trail's got to be in better condition.

for the benefit of doubt... hindi kaya tampered ang mileage nung sasakyan na mas mababa ang mileage? hindi po ako namimintang, but it's possible also to tamper the odometer knowing that the unit is newer. minsan, not because it's newer it's better.

Though it's true that newer is not necessarily better, like fine wine that gets better with age, that's now up for the TS to determine based on the condition of the vehicles upon actual inspection.

The decision to go for the newer X-trail is based on the specs presented. With just that limited amount of information, I think you can conclude in favor of the X-trail.
