A low-gear direct drive for stop-and-go, and a direct drive for the top/OD gear. That should make for a more reliable CVT, IMO.
I hope so for better fuel economy without worrying about tranny replacement instead of repair only.

    thanks.
but if i have to ferry a total of six warm bodies, including mine, on a regular basis...
so the wigo et al are out.
a requirement, is for a lower ingress and egress platform. medyo dual-citizen senyores y senyoras ang mga pasahero.
avanza...? stargazer...? ... ertiga? yung hybrid, para coding-free na rin (daw) ?"

probably the ertiga for the fuel economy if the reviews are accurate although that should not qualify for the coding exemption since it isn't a full hybrid(even though some are being registered as such)

Since seniors will be the passengers, access to the third row would be important. Visit showrooms to find out which one provides easiest access to the third row.

Avanza G or Ertiga GLX. May nakita akong Ertiga na naka official LTO hybrid plate, ok din sa may phobia sa CVT.
Mataas entry point ng XL7, tsaka mainit ang black roof.

    Mukhang okay din Stargazer.

I'd get the Ertiga over the Avanza. The tranny is more bullet proof and roofloine taller.

Every Grab Avanza Ive ridden has horrible ride quality. No joking, its probably the worst ride quality Ive ever had the displeasure of experienced and that includes sporty older cars like an E46 or WRX

I think the direct competition is the Xpander? Not sure if I'd say that has a better ride, but Zigwheels did seem to like the slightly taller Xpander Cross.

    Maybe the Stargazer?

If I had one thing to say about that class of car, it's "you get what you pay for". When you ask for a 3-row 7-seater for only around P1M, compromises have to be made.
One of those is the engine because moving 7 people and their stuff is a lot to ask for from a ~100hp 1.5li, next is the chassis and suspension. NVH is going to be worse, ride is going to be worse. And of course the interior. Don't expect soft-touch plastics or proper leather.

Cars in this segment aren't really made for ride comfort. It's a small value-oriented 7-seater. All else considered, it's really not that bad. It's not like you're sitting on barbs and metal sheets. But if you want more comfort, the car needs to be bigger and more expensive.

^ i don't blame you. the livina looks kind of dated. i think it's based on an older iteration of the xpander , probably due to the fact that nissan and Mitsubishi (along w/ renault) have been in cahoots for some time now.

No first-hand info, sorry, Wala pa akong Wigo. I have not decided on the perfect first car for my son.

But if I have to make an educated guess, wala. It's not mentioned nor implied in the brochure.

Sa 2024 Innova G brochure kasi, it's indicated as the "Follow Me Home" feature. Triggering it (tug once on the high-beam) keeps the low-beams on for about 30 seconds to help you find your way in a dark area after exiting the vehicle. You need to set the headlamp stalk switch to Auto for it to work.

Even the newer FWD ones are that bad ? I though they would be tuned more for passenger comfort now that the liteace can takeover commercial usage.
