W126 tahimik sa loob. May muffled diesel clatter lang. Kapal ng insulation sa loob ng doors, floor and firewall.

i checked what was initially available, and wala ako nakitang benz in good condition.
i saw a couple of 95-97 imported 316is. the choice would now be between the imported 316is or local 89-91 525i.

mukhang lalampas sa budget, around 400-450 ang price range except for one 525i that has a lot of ... options (?!) na nasa 500.

what would be better in this case? all are a/ts.

need some quick advice pang habol sa valentines gift. =p

My friend had a nightmare with his 91' 525i, but its specs and engine is really good, with lots of power but madami naging problema yung 525i nya. According to him problematic daw yun, from overheating to transmission problems. That why you see a lot of early E34 5 series going rate at the low 400K. He still has a e36 320i which he says is much more solid. Go for the 316is if you cant find an MB in good condition. Are those imported 316is the 2 door model? kunin mo na if its the 2 door model, bihira yun at maganda ayusin.

Before you choose what car you'll go for, one important tip is - take your time, don't rush.

Sa E36 you need to replace the shocks, water pump, evaporator, tie-rod, bushings, and gaskets. And, clutch master cylinder, rear wheel bearings, hood shocks, and depending on the condition, the upholstery and re-leather the steering wheel. Mukhang pang matanda yun Merc.

For the E34, go for the engine that has the VANOS technology already... It's a bit more expensive, but well worth it. correct me if i am wrong, but i think it's late 1992 onwards when they started incorporating this on the E34's.

i have a W124 (Estate) if you can get one of these, go for that... There's just something about the W124 estates that turns people's head around. IMO...

yes, estate seem to be more of a classy car but chicks might think you have a family already. hehe. But at least estates hold their value way better than the regular sedans or coupes.

hahahahaha... looking at it from the other side yes, but then again, there is always the boot where you and your chick can cuddle before going home to your you know who!!! joking

going back, yup, it does hold value, a lot more...

well, looks like i didnt end up with either of my original choices.
    got the e36 320i instead.
still need to do some repairs on it, but so far so good for a car with 40 thousand kms.

only thing bothering me about it is i only got 1 key for it. what can be done to prevent from whoever has the other key from doing any monkey business?

Not much other than change the tumblers itself. I suggest you visit LOM in Greenhills and ask if they can change your key combo and make you a new set of master key.

duplicating the e36 key is difficult, wave key kasi.

I think they can deactivate the old code of the keys then reprogram the key. The expensive part here is getting a new duplicate key with the transponder chip (if the 320i key needs one).
