March 25th, 2008 05:25 PM #1Mga paps ask ko lang inputs nyo about this 2 cars...

fuel consumption would be the same for both cars... (if we're talking about the M/T). if not, it would be the City CVT.
ride comfort... almost the same too
safety... yeah... same too
it really all boils down to transmission choice & your aesthetic preference... if you want a M/T go for the Vios - it has improved a LOT since its facelift: roomier interior, better interior quality, better looking, etc.
if you dont' want a M/T, go for Honda's CVT... it is WAYYYYY better than Toyota's sluggish A/T.

City for me it has better utility because of its ULT seats. 60/40 split type pa.... And its cheaper

March 27th, 2008 10:09 AM #5I am looking for an A/T (CVT) car... para kasi pag tinuruan ko si misis mas madali na at ayaw ko nang mataranta sya sa pag shift... (sori girls no discrimination intended)
I'm actually eyeing Civic 1.8V A/T, City 1.5 CVT and Vios 1.5 A/T... sa sub compact lang ako nag dalawang isip... kasi yung bagong Corolla parang face lift lang kaya ayaw ko i-consider... so if I'm going for the sub compac mag decide ako sa City and Vios...
Natutuwa lang talaga ako sa tech ng CVT kaya i'm leaning towards City... Pero if you have other comments on these two cars, message away
** glenngj : thanks for the link... tagal ko nang hinahanap yung comparisson... interesting reading... balak ko ubusin basahin yung thread... pero haba pala 30++ pages

If you can afford the Civic 1.8V A/T, go for it instead! It has a better ride... great engine... is bigger... and looks more stylish than the ipis-inspired City.

March 27th, 2008 12:54 PM #7yung civic sana gusto ko... pero i'm also considering the cost... magkaka bayby na rin kasi so parang 2 na ang aalagaan ko ...
maintenance wise, mas mahirap bang mag maintain ng cvt than ordinary auto tranny??? kasi parang ibang tech sya... marami na bang independent shops na kumakalikot ng cvt???

Vios and City almost the same on 1.5 engine...consumption and riding comport.. but on speed i think city is good compare to vios( sorry for vios owner) specially the CVT of City it was very convinient... it was very light weight vehicle with 6 speed CVT.. but design of City is bit old compare to new vios..

When the CVT conks out... you have to replace the whole unit (happened to pajerokid's friend). Yikes!
:shocked2:
The maintenance cost of either vehicle would be almost at par with each other. The premium that you're paying for the Civic is well worth it after a few years.
