January 3rd, 2009 10:42 PM #2The Escape for me, a relative of mine owns a 2003 Escape and its durable and comfy, offers some performance, is spacious, and, if in 4x4 guise, is capable off road, though the fuel efficiency isn't exactly class leading. As for the Tucson, as motioncars.com quoted it, the Tucson is innovative because of its CRDi engine, but is already somewhat falling behind the competition. If you're opting for a gasoline CUV, I don't think the Tucson is the best choice.

January 3rd, 2009 11:16 PM #3For me, better get the Escape.
Great stance, nice interiors, and a not so bad fuel consumption. For a little over 1M, the 2009 Ford Escape offers the best bang for your buck.

The Tucson is no competition for the Escape in gasoline form. Less space, more truck-like ride... If you're thinking of the Tucson, it's better to get the CRDi.

Purchase of gas-fed CUVs, I'll put it this way:
Escape - most likely.
Handling and it's price may prove irresistible.
CRV - possibly.
Really nice but quite expensive.
Xtrail - another possibility.
Maybe, its just me but I do not like the looks.
Tucson and Sportage - unlikely.
Read somewhere its 2.0L engine is underpowered. Small cabin and its aesthetics is an acquired taste.
see my pahabol statement above. i mean, i can go on vacation anytime. but my spouse has her...
