yup... hyundai/kia crdi engines have been around since early 2000 and wala pang horror stories akong naririnig about it...Originally Posted by RSR_23

bale d' same lang sya as sir *totoybato posted, 9km/liter city driving ang tucson. same consumption lang sa 4x2 Fortuner but with a bigger and taller body.Originally Posted by Reich

CRDi pa din yan.
But I'd still choose Fortuner over Tucson. primary reason: image. secondary reason: bigger body.
The Tuscon will still have that hyundai badge and still have its dismal resale value even if the tuscon deserves better. While The fortuner a toyota will always command a higher premium than other Asian cars especially koreans.Originally Posted by cardo
even if you see a lot more fortuner on the road, Toyota's tactics will make the resale value of the Fortuner higher. there will still be a big demand for the fortuner in a years time, while you would really not see that big a demand for the Tuscon .
get the Fortuner. for better resale and value. The money you save on Fuel may be offset by the bad depreciation of this car once you try to sell it.
Sa gas engine.....get the Fortuner VVTI
Sa Diesel and if you're not planning on selling it after 2 or 3 years, Tucs CRDI na.
Pag mas priority mo seating capacity---fortuner vvti
Pag individuality or para maiba naman gusto mo-----tucs gas or crdi
it will boil down to this one...Originally Posted by 5Speed

except for the seating capacity, i guess they're quite even.
as my prof once said in economics; "ceteris paribus" or if everything else is equal, then test drive them both and whichever wins your heart, yun na siguro di ba...just my 2 cents...
and if this will help...
unlike the fortuner, the tucson (i.e. same looks but maybe with different specs) is offered and accepted in the american market which is somehow an indication of its value as a no non-sense vehicle..

tucson ako..laki ng matipid mo. resale value is still questionable though
