vios has a more decent acceleration ksa sa City dahil nagpa-research ang ex ko dati about it. not bad for a 1.5 liter
m sure mas matipid din sa gasolina yon

I love the Vios even though it lacks safety features. I like its ride and its fast! I was able to drive the City also. I enjoyed the steermatic but this feature is just a novelty. Hindi bagay nag steer matic sa 82hp engine.

Wait for the Honda City 1.3 to become a year old. Honda Phil will surely release the City 1.5 but would do it to keep the Honda City "fresh".

thanks guys for the very helpful feedbacks.. although most of you here have an overwhelmingly liking for Vios, I got the City 1.3 CVT.. i think its more reflective of my personality.. kasi im more into practicality.. my biggest considerations are: convenience (matic tranny), space (bigger + ULT rear seats), and safety. In terms of power., well vios got the edge pero tingin ko sa driving environment dito sa Pinas, its not the power but the 'diskarte' pag nagmamaneho ka.. sa traffic kasi.. thanks all you guys!

hmmm baka marketing ek ek ng honda phil kaya walang 1.5l
just like ghost said..wait for another year...they might release
the 1.5l city sana yung Vtec version..

    remember before?

    1996-1998 -1.3 city
    1998-1999- 1.5 city (non vtec)
    2000-2001- 1.5 city (vtec)

patawa talaga ang honda sa style nila.heheheh yung isang kakilala ko nabili nya yung non-vtec after 6 months lumabas yung vtec laking pagsisisi nya..heheheh
tapos ngayon wala na sa lineup nila yung 1.5 civic..phase out na yata..hmmm ano kaya papalit nila sa 1500 variant?

Congratulations on your choice. I've had my 1.3 city a/t CVT for quite some time now. It has 3.7k on the odometer and has been to Baguio, Tagaytay and repeated trips to Laguna via Rizal. I have all praises for this car, except on this one thing.

Kumakalampag shocks pag sudden change on road surface. You'll notice this on concrete road "spacers". Compared notes with my officemate who owns a city and he noticed it also. I haven't asked honda how the shocks cost, but it'll be one of the things you'll be replacing in the near future.

List price was at 609K i got it for 589k.. kung hindi pa sila nag-paprice increase ah..

thanks for the advise ARCHIEM.. so far di pa naman kumakalampag yung shocks ko.. ill keep that in mind and ask honda to check it up once i had my 1k check up... although i think over the years.. talagang nangyayari to because of wear and tear di kaya?

congrats din! i remember myself b4 when choosing what 2 get bet. the 2: vios or city. hirap talaga. pero what i did was i list down the pros and cons and ended up with city(cvt) having too many advantages than vios. mas maraming gamit esp. kung family person ka. i just found out, my kids love the 60/40 seats when we spend our vacation traveling for hours cos' ginawa nilang tulugan yung backseat, very comfy(of course, w/ their favorit pillows). as for me, 7-speed mode pa din pnag-lalaruan ko til' now. sarap sa byahe!

Finally ... Ive decided to buy a toyota vios 1.5 M/T instead of a honda city. Its because of the following considerations: first, is that the vios has a powerful engine, the exterior looks is more sportier and elegant(its like hinde mapagsasawaan agad), the engine location is more better because it has a big distance from the bumper(meaning pag nabangga ka e maliit lang ang damage physically and financially), interior has a bigger leg room specifically the passenger side, suspension is more better because it uses a mcpherson independent struts..., it has a better HU(2-din) and composes of 4 speakers, better instrument panel because it uses VFDs(digital speedometer and tachometer) which is clear and on strategic location for the driver, it has a built in fog lamps which adds beauty and clear vison of the road at nights, lower cost of maintenance(change oil, labor, parts, etc.) and most of all the fuel consumption is definitely economical which reaches up to 22km/liter on long driving(non-traffic) and 15-18km/liter on city traffic driving!!!!!!! =) compared to the honda city of any variants.

The honda city looks is not so good especifically the exterior, yung likod parang mey kulang o sobra(parang ipis..sorry city owners its just a personal opinion!) unlike for the other honda sedans which the design are better even for years.. we have a honda civic vti 96 model pero maganda pa rin sya tingnan... the city's interior is good too but the leg room on passengers side is smaller than the vios.

Anyway, at the end of the day we are all car owners... more power to all and safe driving.

    Thanks guys!

The vios has advantage on the outside but the city has a good and spacious interior.
