Imo, cvt's 7 speed is just a programmed step to make the car feel more conventional to those who want it.

    I'd go for a type s cvt.

    Then stroke it to 1500cc.

The Vios feels too much like a recycled Echo, Imo.
I'd rather have the Echo hatch.
Got to drive & lightly mod one before.
It could give almost any 1600 a run for their money.
If only it was cheaper, Toyota might have sold more of them.

what are the chances that toyota will allow the vios to be used as a taxi in the future?

There's no rule or contract stopping operators from turning the Vios into a taxi, unless they deem it to be too expensive to maintain. Mukhang maliit kung gagawin mo lang taxi. Puwede siguro kung hotel service.

wala rin naman sinasanto mga taxi operators eh.. malaki o maliit.. kita mo nga fiat uno, naging taxi... i even see new lancers (GLS though) and the old altis as a taxi....saw a new ALTIS 1.6E as a PNP patrol car.. eheheh:mrgreen:

kita ko rin yan sa makati. parang wala yata aircon yung altis nila (or nagyoyosi lang ang mga loko).

First time to see the Vios on the road this morning on the way to work. the exterior looks really good in person but the interior of the city is way better, IMO

In terms of looks, engine power plant, and ride comfort, which car do you think is over the other? My friend is having second thoughts kasi..

    Personally i prefer the vios!

dati vote ako sa city, pero ngayon vios na din!...city kasi 82 bhp lang, 1.3 pa, and worst is top of the line pa ng honda, ok sana kun may 1.5, and i heard rumours that malakas daw sa gas ang city dahil 8 sparkplugs , go mas malakas masunog ng gas....unlike toyota vios, go for the manual for the kicks!...eventough 107 bhp, 930 kilogram naman, sobra gaan. so fear nothing when you race with 1.6 liter sedans , at least may laban ka sa power to weight ratio...

I Must be getting old! The tailights of both cars look the same to me.

I'll turn balimbing! I'd choose the Vios. True, the honda has all the interior beauty in the world, but with a sissy engine, high tech tranny notwithstanding, it seems a lot less appealing than when i first saw it.

Besides..... wouldnt you guys want to try the Vios' F16 digital meters? hahaha! :D peace.

the vios run like any 1.5 car, it's ok for a girl to have one, or for any first time car user,
but for season driver one has to get used to the middle located cluster....

it is ok for a city driving...well, it was design for that...

vios exterior is more proportioned than the city, it struck me as a baby altis kahit sa thailand I was there last week, mas marami ang vios sa road compared to city, parang kasing bitin yun hood ng city when you lok at it sa side... parang pug na aso.....

well, my Gf is still thinking about it, she now thinks it is better for her to buy a second hand RAV4 3 doors...... though she already have a reservation at Honda magallanes...

Its been a drag, and I can't decide which car to have... narrowd it down to two, i only got so much money to burn so i really need to have value for it..

Im ok with vios coz of its external looks, relatively cheap parts and service..

City on the other hand looks less cool in appearance but has superb interiors..

    HELP fellow tsikoteers!
