    I would get the Civic.

I have an 01 1.6 Civic VTI M/T. It will turn 13 yrs old this yr and it is still working, but I wouldn't say in 100% good condition, up to now. It has ran more than 195k kms, all stock, no modifications, transmission hasn't been replaced and engine hasn't been overhauled.

Recently I tried in SCTEX as to how fast can it still go, it can still do 180 kph but from 140 kph, it was unstable already.

It overheated only once, I experienced where the rpm became erratic where it would go so low until the car dies, I also experienced where the MIL lit up, leaking issues such as oil leaks, P/S fluid leaks, water seeping in the driver side carpet, and a lot more. In short, it wasn't a problem free car. But those problems started to appear starting on its 5th yr, if my memory serves me right.

For as long as that Civic that you have seen is well taken care of, it should be livable or "pwede na" considering the age.

The parts that normally or very frequently need replacing are stabilizer links, shocks, bushings, engine support, P/S parts (this is the pricey one but the remanufactured version is much cheaper) and I agree with that rack and pinion. I think at least 2 or 3 of those parts will be replaced in less than 2.5 yrs depending on how you used and abused your car.

    Good luck in your pick!

IMHO civic ES & vios were good cars. I owned both, each car has pros & cons. If that's your only reason "di pa mukang taxi" for not choosing the vios over the civic, why on earth you still created the thread asking tsikoters opinion knowing vios is a taxi here?

By the way, TS, my Civic can run up to 360 kms in 1 full tank. It's currently running using Royal Purple oil. Full tank is around 1900 pesos and minsan less basta naglalaro lang sa 1800 to 1900 sa Seaoil unleaded and roughly 34++ to 35++ liters yang ganyang amount so around 8++ to 10 kms/liter siya.

Pero sana next time, when you are asking for a comparison, pls refrain from making comments like "mukhang taxi" kasi magmu mukha kang engot, inutil at walang alam niyan.

For your size and comfort and project plans better get the Civic. If you plan to keep your car longer than your college years better get the Vios.

The guy has already decided to buy civic instead of vios. Below was his logic reasoning......
"salamat sa mga sagot sir.. mukang mag ES nalang ako.. di pa mukang taxi haha!"
