June 11th, 2005 12:50 AM #4Echo that was release locally has 1.3 and 1.5 engine. (1.5 Echo verso)
Engine, chasis, suspension is the same with VIOS
(VIOS dashboard came from Japan Echos hehehehe)
The Echo (1.3) I beileve has a high resale value compared to the Echo verso (1.5)
Engine parts might be easy bec of vios
Cosmetic part are expensive like headlights bumper and ****. And migh be very hard to find!
All echo release by toyota Philippines are Japan CBUs

2nd hand echo units are quite expensive pa rin.. i heard that the suspension is matagtag..you can get better value siguro with 97 civic lxi's than this..(pero kung hindi ako nag-iisip at puro puso lang...type ko yung verso, ehehehe..)

September 29th, 2006 02:20 PM #7Dati ko pa love itong echo... compared to other cars in the 2nd hand market na ka price nya, ok ba sya? Aside from the body, is it mechanically identical to the vios? Baka mahirapan ako with parts if I decide to get one. Would you guys know if it's still supported by Toyota locally?

echos/1st gen yaris are very good small cars... heck it won top gear award for small car of the year yata way back 98-99... yung mga vios nga e based dito sa small platform na to...
yung tagtag siguro dahil sa short wheel base and of course standard suspension parts... fuel economy abot yata 12-15 km/l...
In my opinion a solid fun car... better than the love life corollas...
hindi pumatok sa pilipinas nung time nya kasi nga mas mahal ng konti sa xl/xe na lovelife corollas and filipinos still prefer having pwet... este trunk sa kotse...
Very good value for money IMHO...
