    Hi, Peepz

Planning to replace my aging Honda City with the following:

    1. Changan CS55
    2. GAC GS3 Emzoom
    3. Toyota Yaris Cross
    4. 2019 Hyundai Sta Fe

    Considerations:
    - 1-3 passenger(s) most of the time (though I sometimes bring my parents with me on my out-of-town trips)
    - provincial trips 2x a year (Benguet)
    - owns a Sportage CRDI
    - Budget is 1.3M

Which car would you recommend? I'm open to other suggestions.

    Thanks!

i used to have a honda city and i kinda miss it mas practical pa rin ang sedan format for daily driving so i'm planning to get a corolla. all variants now have the 1.8 engine. all the 1.5 n/a crossovers and MPVs are underpowered so they kinda $uck

Since you're considering Yaris Cross, you can add the BR-V VX in your shortlist. Fits your budget with the ongoing promos of Honda Phil. Personally wouldn't consider Chinese if you keep cars for 10 years or more.

    i'm a toyota fan.
    the toyota, of course.
for all the advantages, real or imagined.

personally, i'm still not sold on the china cars' local longevity and maintenance program.
reygan in youtube has good words for china cars in general, the changan cs35 in particular. will it rub off on the 55?
then there's the geely horror story from an unhappy costumer...
but even the japanese like toyota, mitsu and honda, have their share of horror stories.
i guess, it's how the manufacturers deal with these maintenance and brakedown issues, that's important in the long run.

I like the cs35 except for those red leather seats
My sister owns an Azkarra and so far she's satisfied with the aftersales kaya i'm also considering the GCR . If only the 4-cylinder is available here then GCR na.

based on his list, he's probably looking for a crossover below 1.3M...

and his previous car is a honda city, a low maintenance, relatively fuel efficient small appliance car. probably using it from point A to point B...

with those in mind... yeah I have to go with the others here, Yaris Cross gets my vote in this case.

Yes correct. I prefer a crossover kas mas mataas sya compared sa sedan.

overrated ang ground clearance i replaced my honda city with this, which has almost the same ground clearance, approach/departure angles as my jimny. pero wala din, coz it's fwd you run out of traction before you run out of clearance

so i regret buying it. should've gotten a honda jazz instead

You may want to wait until the cheating scandal gets resolved.

Parang sunod sunod na yung issue ng Daihatsu. Daming recalls tapos may cheating pa. Apparently, this didn't/won't sway buyers though as Daihatsu vehicles are still selling well, in our market at least.

as the local spokesman said, "no laws were violated" in our country,
... because our country has no laws governing these!
    heh heh.

    if i may,
our local car buyers put more items up front when choosing what car to buy, than issues at alleged cheating at safety tests.
