November 27th, 2012 03:38 PM #9Cars that are or have been in our family that have proven to be reliable:
1993 Ford Telstar 2.0GLX A/T (2004-2012)- in Taiwan, rebadged Mazda 626, reached 260+tkms when disposed
1995 Toyota Corolla GLi M/T (1995-2000)
1997 Suzuki Escudo 1.6JLXi A/T (1997-2009)- in Taiwan, 3door, original LHD
1999 Honda Civic SiR M/T (2000-2005)
2001 Toyota Revo GLX diesel M/T (2010-present)
2003 Ford Escape 2.0XLT A/T (2007-2012)
2005 Honda Accord 2.4i-VTEC A/T (2005-present)
2010 Ford Escape 2.3XLS A/T (2010-2012)- sold when the last family member living in Taiwan there came back, had ran 45tkms already in its short life.
those that have had major repairs:
1989 Nissan Sentra 1.6SGX M/T (1992-2000)- constant repairs here and there, soft body steel, heavy fuel consumption
1997 Honda Accord 2.2VTi A/T (2000-2003)- transmission replacement
2002 Isuzu Trooper 3.0LS A/T (2003-2011)- injectors, turbo and TPS replacement
Did not include the last two additions the '04 Accord V6, '08 Santa Fe CRDi 4x2 and the '06 Tribute 2.3 yet. Though the three have given us no headaches as of now.Last edited by GTi; November 27th, 2012 at 03:48 PM.
