Which do you recommend? Its quite hard to decide as I like Camry for the size and comfort, BMW for prestige and design and Subaru for its uniqueness and raw power.

In my opinion, that really depends... Sinabi mo na nga...
Camry for the size and comfort
BMW for prestige and design and;
Subaru for its uniqueness and raw power.
- I believe Subaru carries the badge of prestige here in the Philippines.

If ayaw mo ng super tagtag, go for just the WRX variant instead (or the FXT).![]()
sir wag ka na mag sti dumadami na bigla....joke lang![]()
well para sakin di siya matagtag, sanayan lang din yan. kaya nga nung magkadistributor dito ulit sa atin ay kumuha na agad ako. pero kung affordable power and comfort, camry is my vote. bmw? pwede narin pero mahal e. besides, yung camry and most probably na bmw na makukuha mo is automatic while the sti or wrx is manual. so that's another factor to consider sa driving comfort mo.
we have had the same dilemma months back. opted for the Sti. BMW is wee bit underpowered and depending on what car you usually drive, power here is non existent but everythine else is BMW perfect. Camry on the other hand good luck kung may makuha kang unit in the next 3 months.
Either Camry 3.5 or sa Subaru.
In the design aspect, the E90 3-series sucks ass in my book. The E46 was indeed better. 1-series is okay pero patay ka sobra sa rear legroom (lalo na kung 6-footer ka).
A better candidate from BMW would be 535d pero hindi ata offered dito sa Pinas (tama ba?). Iyan talaga kasi ang full power ng BMW diesel engine eh.
That's what I think anyways
The Camry is the smart choice. The Subaru is the fun choice. The BMW is the pretentious choice (and this is from someone who owns one).
I mean, when a simple piece of trim costs you $90, you know you either have to dedicate your life to making sure nothing ever breaks, or be in a position where the cost of maintenance is not an issue. And don't fool yourself into thinking that maintenance won't be an issue. BMW's are no more reliable than any other brand.
The Toyota is comfortable and relatively cheap to maintain. The Subaru is pretty much the same, but it sacrifices comfort for fun. Decide if you enjoy smooth comfort or exhilirating driving, and you should have your answer.
One thing we have neglected to factor in is what's the status of the intended driver. Is he single? Is he married? Does he have a family members/friends to consider? Is this the first/one and only car or is there is another daily driver?
If the driver's a single guy or has another daily driver, go for the STi. My friend has a $32k 2005 STi which now has 450hp (and an additional $25k sunken in).
Yet, going to work daily, he still drives an old Ford Escort GT (his Fil-Am wife drives an SUV) because the ride on the STi is too rough for his tastes and we have wonderful roads here in AZ. For him, the STi is now mainly for Friday night cruising or charging up the mountains nearby. Once the rush wears off, you really start looking for something much more comfortable.
The STi is a performance car, pure and simple. But, it's a single guy's car. Here, the STi is considered a "boy racer" car. That's not bad in itself if performance is your thing. I would certainly like one. But, not if it's my only car. Prestige? If you want to run with the "sossy" crowd, an STi's not it unless Daddy's paying for it in which case Daddy's driving a Bimmer or something more expensive which is much more "sossy".
I'd consider a different Subaru like a Forester or Legacy turbo wagon which are both more practical than an STi. Even in (northern) Japan, I've never seen many WRX/STi's with anyone else on board except the driver. Most Subarus I've seen with more than one person on board are either Legacys which are much more common than Camrys or the relatively few Foresters.
The Camry may not seem fast because as one guy said earlier, it is quite refined. The driver has to look in the back mirror to see the other cars falling behind. It's no STi in handling or acceleration. But, I'd say it can run with or smoke 70-80% of the cars out there. The fact that many are out there means you're less likely to attract a cop's attention. I'd also like people to show me where in Manila can the vaunted handling of the STi be used besides the race track or a drag strip.
Strange logic here. People want fast cars which I take to mean they'll use to speed or drag race with. Yet, they want to stand out...... If I was going to speed or drag race, I'd want to blend in so the cops will have a harder time finding me.
Another of my 2 cents....
As for "prestige".... There are people who crave it. Nothing wrong with that, either. If people want to strut around and be seen like a "peacock"
that's their perogative. But, that usually means having a car that's refined to the max regardless if there are better performing cars. A Bimmer is prestige enough. No need to explain why it's slower than some cars, at least from what most owners in our neighborhood have said.
