Having driven both cars, I would take the Lancer EX RalliArt 2.0T AWD.

Why? It is powerful & fast when you push the right buttons (deactivate traction control and stuff like that) and floor the accelerator and yet it is civilized, smooth and easy going when you are just driving it through the city.

With four door convenience if you want to take your family (or your GF's parents) with you to the restaurant for a nice evening dinner. It has it's rally heritage performance, handling and speed with it's 6-speed dual clutch tranny in sport-mode and traction control turned-off. Paddle-shifts gives you good control and accurate use of the gears however may the road throws you a corner after corner.

It is a perfect car to drive to the office during the week and have a little track-day fun on the weekend.

    Bias ka GH j/k

IMHO mas practical yung EX RalliArt. Lalo na kung pamilyado na rin.

Pero kung binata pa.. Genesis Coupe all the way!

Ayaw talaga magpatalo si sir. Eto naman comparing 2.0 engines.

Ako ill compare the prices, with the lancer price, pwede na GC 3.8 with Brembos. 303HP

Dapat comparison sa Lancer is Subaru.

Btw 5 speed lang ba ang 2.0 GC? I thought 6-speed na. Mali pala alam ko.

Meron 6-speed M/T yung GC. But I wanted to compare "apple-to-apple" as much as possible.

for the price of the RA i'd take the legacy gt which is a better over all car than the RA. since this is RA v.s. GC. i choose the GC because the GC is very rare on the road compared to the lancer not the RA in particular but no one knows what the difference is between the regular lancer and the RA, only car enthusiast like us would know the difference. unlike the GC, no one would mistake it for some thing else. also the RWD would make it fun around the track and the GC looks much more sporty compared to the RA. plus the 190,000 difference i can buy mods for the GC which will make it faster than the RA. kung 1.7M lang ang RA then that would be a different story, i'd even buy it over the WRX.

200k difference is a lot. Kayang kaya mo na maglagay ng performance mods with that.

I still like RWD compared to 4WD here in the Philippines. And based on porma, coupe parin talaga yun tinitignan ng mata natin rather than 4-door sedan.

According to people, mabigat daw clutch ng Genesis Coupe eh. I think the shifter in the Ralliart would be WAY better.

RWD is great fun in ideal conditions but it can be dangerous in bad weather or simply bad roads or roads with loose surface (gravel or sand on it). I have spun out RWD vehicles before simply because of some loose gravel or sand in the corner as I applied power at the apex.

It wouldn't have happened if i had AWD to help me grip and correct the car.

where did you get the figure of ralliart?

i checked it last week. the price is not what you've posted

    and it's indent like GC.

if you know a dealer who have this unit ready please inform me.

The pricelist might be getting old though.

Budget P2.0M? hhmmmm maybe 08-09 Evo X is already close to that price, 2-2.3M? It's worth the penny you'll add.

I think it makes more sense to compare the GC 3.8 V6 A/T for a closer price gap. I'm not sure if people actually buy a GC 2.0T premium as for only 100k more, you get an extra 100+ hp. Or for even less than 2.0T premium price, you get a GC 3.8 V6 M/T.

I guess there are those who are after that "premium" feel.

    Biased ako sa GC

and with the price difference I'll take the route one of our club members took, he slapped an Evo Turbo on his GC.

A 3.8L car will give you 3.8L performance for 3.8L fuel consumption.

A 2.0T will give you 3.0L performance (give or take) for 2.0L fuel consumption.

So it does make most sense to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges or as close as the options available will give you.

Price is not the only factor to compare cars, in fact it should be the last item to be used to compare cars.

    that's the problem with RWD.

that's why i only switch off my traction control if needed. most of the time it is "on".
