That car could easily go way past $20k as can the Si, Cobalt, and Tiburon. Keep your sig for now. I might have to work on adding "slightly used" cars to my list.

My wife also revealed her hidden agenda when she casually mentioned, "You know, we could also use a minivan so my mom can be comfy". I quickly shot that thought down.

Anyway, I'll be looking around for 2005 models new or used to add to my list.

Your mom-in-law would probably be more comfy in the sonata... hmm, slightly used... BMW!

    Ouch... minivans...

Here's just throwing some ideas around... what about a new or slightly used Nissan Quest? Still a nice engine, and the record number of sunroofs make it a nice place to sit in.

If your upper limit really is 20k, then you're probably limited to lower-rung Mazda 3's, the Lancer Ralliart and the SE-R. The SE-R is a nice stump-puller... can you get the Spec V (with the helical LSD) for under 20k?

Secondhand SRT4 for me is a big "?"... guess it depends on how abused it was.

the club spec is around 20k which shares the same engine as the top of the line grand touring (25k).

Well, except maybe the new 244hp Hyundai Entourage. 0-60mph at 7.5 sec. (from MotorTrend? Automobile Magazine?) That's pretty good for a minivan.

Ooooh. I forgot to consider the Lancer Ralliart.... I have to add that to the list. I've always been a sentimental Mitsu fan.

My wife likes the Scion too simply because it's a Toyota.

Go on and try the Lancer then. A boardmate from another forum is also shopping around, and he found the new 160hp Ralliart a gas to drive compared to some of the newer, bigger cars.
