February 6th, 2011 01:52 AM #21Siguro ang mga magulang mo gusto dun sa mga kotse with engine tech na galing pa dun sa araw nila. There's no denying that the Sportivo's 4JA1 engine is very durable, fuel efficient and easy to source parts for. But they must also be reminded that the Sportivo is very slow, noisy, clattery and dirty (mausok). Also, the Sportivo has no safety features whatsoever like airbags or even ABS/EBD and uses very poor quality (soft) steel and so, will not pass any sort of crash tests. Kapag naaksidente ka, pisa yan kaagad. It is VERY expensive for what you get, considering that the top of the line D4D Innova with leather interior and captain seats is actually cheaper.

Montero is not really that big kung icocompare sa Sportivo. Yes it is heavier still the engine power is far better than Sportivo. Kahit mabigat de hamak naman na mas malakas eto. Kung ako nga na 28yrs old sumasakit katawan ko lalo na pag pasahero ng Crosswind ano pa kaya elder people.
Think of these things:
- sa price ng Sportivo dagdag nalang ng konti Montero na
- with that additional price you get way better engine technology, more safety features, far better handing and comfort.

Have them test drive the Montero Sport and they will agree with you. Who's paying for the car? If it's you, insist on the Montero Sport. Paying 1.2M for a Sportivo is definitely not a good choice. It's like paying Krispy Kreme price for a Mister Donut.
If you want to make them happy and they insist on Sportivo, try to look at the Innova.Last edited by Walter; February 6th, 2011 at 09:34 AM.

For the bank try MetroBank and BDO. Sila nagbigay sakin ng lowest interest rate, 1yr lang yung akin so with that 2 banks less than 5% per annum lang.
By the way I'm not bias, we own a XUV but now I own new Everest for 2weeks. I like Montero I still want to get it but not really soon.
Good luck

Popular ang Sportivo sa probinsya that aside from the Adventure, its probably the classic probinsyano-family vehicle.
Pros: Matipid, madali ang piyesa, mura and maintenance and consumables (oil, filter, etc.), and most mechanics can deal with old diesel engines, no electronic parts (kaya di ka takot mabasa at flooded).
Cons: major one is the safety issue-- no airbags, EBD, etc for a vehicle priced more than a million pesos.
Ang MS, maganda kon maganda. But there is also a price to pay ----maintenance (mahal) at di masyado matipid. Kon mahilig ka magtravel ng malayo, prepare to spend more for fuel.
Sa looks di naman nagkalayo. But the built is different- Sportivo is an AUV, while the MS is an SUV. Kaya and MS mas mabigat and more "safe".
But do not rely on the so-called "safety features" because that is not the only one that matters in an accident. Speed also matters.
Kaya siguro "safety" feature na rin na medyo mabagal ang Sportivo.
