Sorento LX will be a nice choice. A real solid choice i believe. As the tsikoteers here explained, it would already be enough to convince you to buy it!

So that's added savings for you.

When you see an Explorer around, no matter how beautiful it is, just remember that whenever you pay your dues for the Sorento a lot are also allotted for your future savings and whenever you pull over on a gasoline station a smile on your face grows when you see that diesel is just under or a little over 40 pesos and gasoline is over 50.

It's hard to wait for your dream car while putting other people at risk -- in this case, your wife.. -- hindi siya worth it. Baka nga naintay mo naman yung Explorer pero kung ano naman mangyari [knock on wood...] sa kung sinong tao na nagddrive ng deadly santa fe mo.

Who knows, baka pag nabayaran mo na yung Sorento an SUV much better than the Explorer gets released. Maybe the All-new Expedition?
sus style lang nya yan. kuripot nga eh tapos biglang explorer. if you are a diesel user, you'll never go gas, much more gas guzzler and high maint suv.

he has two choices that 1.268M Montero or 1.330M Sorento. and now that it's official na hindi naman pala bare ang Sorento at that price then good deal. so the bare model lang pala is the gasoline ones. sa States kasi madami ganyan roof rack and fog light less sorento, so malamang yan din yun offer dito at 1.090M

I don't really if there is really hype here regarding dyan sa new Explorer. kami our eb explorer will be our last Ford or vehicle above 2M. not worth it kahit ano pang technology nakakabit dyan.

kung bibile ka ng 2M car, better get the coupes. but then again the coupe like the T86 and GC are less than 2M. for a brand new Ford Explorer at 2.3M, you can buy 2 M/T Sorento and M/T Montero na, tipong 100K+ na lang dagdag. 2 diesels are better than 1, that's the logical choice.

May basis pala yung mga kwento ng mga taxi drivers na naglolock daw ang steering wheel ng CRDi Accent.

Akala ko kwentong pandugas lang kasi matipid sa diesel at mas malaki boundary ang ibibigay. :D

If you saw away hard enough at the steering wheel of any electric power steering car while not moving, the motor will overheat and you will lose all steering assist (titigas). This is a tactic some racers use to remove the "overboosted" feeling from EPS when on the racetrack. (First learned this from a Japanese hotshoe waaaaaay back with the first-gen Jazz)

If you do this too often (too many quick turns of the wheel when sitting still), then the EPS motor will suffer.

And who turns the wheel most while stationary, pulling into and out of "waiting" slots a million times a day? There's your answer.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yan ay dahil sa hindi alam mostly ng mga taxi driver how to handle a new car fitted with electric motor assist. Except sa problema n sir Yebo kasi flood victim si Sta Fe nya (my sympathy goes with him), alam ko kung gaano ka problematic to own one.

Well, in terms of gamit, taxi drivers would be the best stress test/abuse barometer. Those cars are running non-stop (well maybe a short stop during a bathroom break or food run), and those drivers don't exactly have the best habits.

So, in short, Accent CRDi is not recommended for taxi business? And Vios can handle the 24hr taxi-driving-stress. OT na. Sorry po. :D

Oh come on! Pampalubag loob lang yan! You know the Explo is really that nice and the Sorento isn't!

    Just kidding. Hehe!

I agree with bro renzo. Though the Explorer is very nice, I'm partial toward the Sorento. It's a late bloomer in my
book. It's pretty solid though basic, noticed only now as it's priced competitively at last. Hey some might see upgrade-ability as a plus, like I do. The LX does give you some leeway to personalize things. Got some mods already listed down for my friend.

And yes, P10/L less at the pumps is still a big deal. I recall my old Gen1 Exped. Fuel gauge would only move if you put P1k in. P1k for diesel will go a long way.

As big a deal as the Explorer is... At half a million less than any comparable competitor, the Sorento is an even better deal.

Besides, I doubt you'll ever need all the extra space of the Explorer.

Ma-ego din naman ang Sorento ah, especially if you manage to make it look like this. Plus sir garyq's HID and DRL retrofit of course.

yung EX model yan sir, may sunroof saka roof rail.

Ok lang kaya ang porma pag walang roof rail? kasi di ko need at maluwang ang luggage space since 5 seater lang ang LX.
wala bang pictures ng may step board?

Nope, that is the top of the line SX model available in the States. It would be nice if you can turn the more plebeian LX to something like this. I remember seeing a Sorento with this kind of bumper in the Philippines already.
