Hi there, I'm planning to buy a Mazda Tribute I would just like to know about your comments and reviews regarding this vehicle, if it is worth the money or not. I'm hoping that I would be able to get some response on this.

    Thanks a lot guys...

The Mazda Tribute 2.3L is good, ok naman siya according to other forumers here pero yung sa amin kasi malakas consume ng gas so maybe we got the "not-so-perfect" unit. But you might want to consider the Suzuki Grand Vitara, I like it more than the Tribute

what was good a few years ago is merely average now... it feels too dated now that it's almost 2007 (and against such competitors as the new RAV4 and the upcoming 2007 CR-V). And it is, seeing as how it was brand new almost 7 years ago.

My neighbour had one before, don't know why but it burst into flame. Mazda gave him a new one which he promptly sold.

if you're going to compare tribute and escape, i think wala naman siguro differences with regards to ride and performance diba?

well, it's quite dated if you compare it with the new RAV4 and Santa Fe. its design isn't flashy. but overall, it's solid

i had a Tribute and it served me well. i thought it was (and still is) one of the better looking compact SUVs out there...simple, uncluttered and unassuming. the ride was soft and quiet and its 4WD got me through heavy rainstorms and blizzards with little or no problems.

Just got one myself lately (<1000km pa lang).

The design is not as flashy as the newer models but I can live with that.

Main factor for me was a CUV with a comfortable ride and enough power bring me around and my choices came down to escape, tribute and xtrail (all 4x2s). A friend of mine who has both an escape and xtrail told me that that his escape is much comfortable than the xtrail so there goes my shortlist

As for gas consumption, I believe it would be quite ignorant of anybody to believe, and you have to accept the fact, that CUVs in this range would not give you a milage near that of a Picanto To give you an idea, my unit is currently drinking around 5-6km/li in city traffic. My guess is that this could go up to 7km/li when i reach 5000km+

Yup... almost all CUVs are gas guzzlers. CRVs, Escapes and Tributes have very very similar consumption.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

my mom's tribute 2.3 (4x2) consumes 7km/liter city driving... that is if you remain your speed at 80km/hr tops... super lakas tlga sa gas.

I think 7km/li is reasonable and not that bad for this size and displacement of a car and asking for 9km/li+ on the average is somethng we all like to have but only in our dreams. You will be surprised that some sedans with much smaller displacements have similar or even worse FCs than this

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence

Yeah, this is true. Although some CUVs are not as passenger spacious as medium sized sedans, and may appear more compact vs them, they do have the medium sized sedans' engines and weight (plus more drag?). Lamang lang siguro is ride height and versatility.

Para sa akin ok naman tribute eh un nga lang pag city driving medyo malakas gasolina. Maiba lang guys san ang best na mekaniko expert sa tribute along pampanga or tarlac area sana? Tnx po in advance. San din kaya pwede magpalagay ng spoiler tarlac or pampanga din sana para sa tribute?

Is Mazda Tribute 2.3L any good?
