Pang grocery lang pala, why not a pickup or ertiga or vios?

Wagna Jimny sa sobra konti nila, ang aircon compressor replacement abutin ng P100k tagal pa dumating. Halos walang ka cross-ref ang parts ultimo hose order pa abroad.

Kung gusto mo reliable and abundant parts, look at the taxi models and its commercial line equivalents, for sure after its life cycle dami parin parts.

Worry not about parts of cars of global architecture, which the Jimny is. If they can't be found locally, amayama, partsouq, megazip, partsnext are all great sources of almost always better priced genuine parts of nippon makes than dealerships here.

^Expensive. Niche cars in Ph that is.

The equivalent Calsonic of my Nissan is just around P8-15k, and its cross to the Commercial line parts like Urvan and Navara. Same with the Vioses and Altises, Wigoes, Hiluxes and Hiaces..

Maybe iTs just me, based from my motoring experience - if you want a reliable car that have perpetual parts/aftermarket support, it should be the best seller or from the commercial line.

hindi issue yan. a/c compressor is readily available for the 3rd gen jimny. the 4th gen jimny will be around for another 16 years. so i expect wide availability when these 4th gen compressors start failing

biggest issue w/ jimny right now is availability. practically impossible to get an A/T unit at SRP

I get you, sir. For the non-enthusiast or non-tinkerer, some makes & models could pose challenges in parts-sourcing. The non-nippons I stay away from.
Talk about bestsellers...the Jimny is 1. I personally am global-architecture biased... keeps me from being held dealership-hostage & prefer genuine or upgrades in vehicle maintenance over inferior equivalents. Bad or good, it has become a habit here to keep some spare common wear parts before they're needed. Just me.[emoji4]

For me its an issue. Aftermarket part doesnt last and shop wont warrant its failure - no choice but to get from casa.

Imagine a niche car that usually sits in the garage, eh the compressor is a wear part and only lubricated by the capilliary oil. By murphy's law that part is bound to fail prematurely.

Hina din ng aircon parang Wigo. Kung 1km lang at mahina aircon, mag taxicle nalang, you arrive in your destination in style(chauffeured). hehe

you worry too much LOL. i sold a 17yo car last year. never needed a replacement compressor. i'm not expecting compressor failure anytime soon w/ my jimny, considering it's done just 6k in 10 months of ownership. but then again it might fail coz now you've jinxed it LOL

The jimny doesn't make sense in this case. Based on the given facts, it seems the buyer is not an enthusiast and the car will never be used off road. Maybe sa porma porma? Otherwise it's just a waste of a good 4x4.

Jimny is cramped inside, poor AC, poor FC, sloww. You make it a garage king then it will self destruct-this statement is true with any other cars, that's why its imperative to run the car at least every week.

If i'm on the same boat, I'd give up the other ride for a hybrid. I'd get the Kicks for full-electric driven-motor feel, and I won't be frustrated being overtaken by MC's on the stoplight.

Akala ko ba one of the criteria is no Direct Injection (DI)? Bakit nasali CX3, naka DI ito diba?

    I'd take DI over CVT....Gunk is cleanable.[emoji4]

DI is more prone to carbon buildup than port or dual injected. Just be religious in oil changes(I never follow 10k change interval recos & stick to 5 for the normal daily... annually for the less used) & be mindful of gas quality, you'll be fine.
Bimmers are known to require periodic intake cleaning. Walnut blasting is the most ideal method.
