Hello,
Need help. We plan to buy 2nd hand SUV with budget 550k. Below are the options:
Rav4 4x2 2003 model 50K mileage
CRV 4X2 2003 model 50K mileage
Ano tingin nyo na best option. May makukuha ba ako ng 2004 model na ok sa 550K?

Parang mahal for a 4x2 variant.

Personally RAV4 ako. I didn't really like the 2nd gen CRV kasi gas guzzler....
Less 50K pa siguro... but if everything is in good working condition... why not.
And oh, I'll go for the Rav4... it has a better fuel consumption than the CR-V.

tama tama... yaw ko din ng crv 03, lasing sa gas lagi yun eh
ill go for the rav 4.![]()
If you need extra space, go for the CRV. It has a bit more room than the RAV especially the 8 'cheater'. The RAV is a better drive. It has a smoother and responsive engine and consumes less gas than the CRV. Best description for the CRV is that the engine feels like it's 'cold' all the time.
No offense to the CRV owners but the RAV is more 'manly' than the CRV.
I believe '03 CRV A/Ts are about 500K in the market.
HTH
I'd get the RAV4. For me, it's more comfortable than the CRV in terms of the interior and ride quality over normal road conditions.
My wife has an '03 CRV, grabe lumamon ng gas saka matagtag yung ride, I'd go for the RAV 4 sana, kaya lang the 4x2 doesn't come in automatic.
If you don't mind giving up the extra rear legroom of the CR-V, the CBU from Japan Rav4 would be a good choice.
I owned a 2003 CRV, its really a gas guzzler, matagtag ang ride. My exact fuel consumption is only around 4.5 to 4.8 km/l using Petro Blaze. Go for the RAV 4 by all means.
Ano po gas milage ng 4x2 and 4x4 rav4? So around how much kaya fair price ng rav4 4x2 and 4x4 now? Porma wise mag maganda talaga yung rav.![]()
Rav 4 too for me.
Aside from it looks better (for me), the FC consumption of CRVs makes this a better option.
I have friends who own 03/04 CRVs. daig pa daw nila naka exped sa sobrang lakas sa gaso.
Naku nakakatakot naman pala yong consumption ng CR-V. Plan to buy pa naman this summer. Parang may nabasa ako sa kabilang thread sabi ng mga CR-V owners umaabot dawcla ng 7km/liter. Bias kaya yon?
Actually I'll be getting a RAV4, probably by near end of year. I don't really mind stepping over or under 2500 rpm. Don't scrimp on gas, give what your car requires. No pun intended, if you can't afford to feed it, don't drive it. No wonder I see so many nice-looking SUVs in SLEX not driving up to the "Highway Spec" because of these unwritten "2500 rpm" rule, and they are dangerously slow because of the wrong mindset at the wrong place. These gooks are dangerous because since they're not driving up to highway speed (city-driving mindset kasi eh) so highway-abiding drivers (those running average of 80kph) has to overtake and cut them unnecessarily. No matter how much expansion is being done in our highways we still have slow traffic. 'sensya na, I was just a bit pissed off upon learning this, 'coz everyday I drive I tried to get ahead of a jam to find out what's a cause of a slow traffic in a highway that doesn't even have a traffic light, eto pala yun! Yan OT na tuloy.![]()
