Hi,
Please help. Which one would be the best buy in terms of;
1. FC (city driving)
2. Ride and Performance
3. After Sales Service and PMS

1. FC. Tucson will have better FC since its the only one that is diesel. I know the LPG folks will tell you that the CRV can be converted into LPG and that is true but what I am saying is if you don't modify the cars. So yeah Tucson.
2. Ride and Performance = Toss up between CR-V and Forester.
3. After Sales and PMS = CR-V. Subaru has only one dealer right now and its in Greenhills. Tucson I say so-so kasi some Hyundai dealers are not that good and they are not as centralized as Honda.
1. FC (city driving) - Tucson, but the CR-V isn't that far behind.
2.a Ride - Forester. Tucson and CR-V aren't bad, though... the CR-V isn't as bad as the old one, but it's still a bit stiff. Both cars are relatively truck-like compared to the Subie.
2.b Performance - Acceleration: Tucson at low speeds, CR-V at higher speeds.
Handling - I haven't tested them back to back, but I'd expect the Forester to be best, CR-V second, Tucson third.
3. After Sales Service and PMS - Depends on how close you live to MotorImage. Subaru parts are a bit more expensive, but it's not a rip-off like German car parts are.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
No, no. I have to disagree with Niky this time. Forester is matagtag, has so-so after-sales, even poorer FC, handles like a whale, is the only car here that has a waiting list (I think), and has no freebies nor promotions except an imminent price increase. If I were you I wouldn't even consider it.![]()
Well, the Tucson is actually a decent vehicle... and the only compact crossover on the market with a diesel. And the new facelift introduces subtle changes that make it look upmarket.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Thank you all for responding! At least now I'm only down to 2 choices..hay
CRV and Subaru...although I got scared about pup2 comments.
Which one has a better FC, accelerates faster and has a better resale value???
I'm a big fan of M/T kaya lang grabe na ang traffic so I'm really considering and A/T. So I'm a bit concerened about A/T's acceleration.
Pup2 was just pulling your leg... we think.
An AT is definitely easier to drive, but definitely thirstier for gasoline. A manual transmission will save you money at the pumps.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
driving an M/T compact SUV is not that hard in bumper traffic
but driving an M/T diesel SUV or pickup or even gasoline big cars, now that's parusa to the max.
More so if the road is bumper to bumper traffic and goes uphill and then downhill so often like in San Juan area, or Baguio's streets for that matter.![]()
Parallel parking will also be a bitch on those kinds of streets when you are using M/T big, big and bigger cars.Only a masochist would enjoy parking like that.
For me No doubt I'd rather get the CRV We did a Test Drive between TUCSON and CRV, I 'd Go for CRV![]()
Oh don't mind me. I was just trying to hoodwink people into not getting a foz. Naka FXT kasi ako and one of the reasons for my getting it is that it's not very common and therefore not nakawin -- see, NOT an elitist, not much anyway. hehehe.
To answer your question, FC will be about even. Acceleration to the foz, and resale to the crv.
I used to drive an MT civic and lack of acceleration was also a top priority for me since it COULD be dangerous if you get impatient. I also had a gen 1 CRV and my passengers complained about the hard ride yet I took my foz on an overnight trip to Vigan and went to a party pa pagbalik.
Conclusion: you get what you pay for. It's up to you what you want to pay though.
Now can I go back to trying to get people not to buy subbies?![]()
boss Pup2 namimiss ka na namin sa forums. btw, EB tayo sa North after Xmas?![]()
