Please Help Me! Revo Or Adventure?

Hi everyone! I'm newbie here and I need good advice out there for what to best buy, I prefered revo or adventure (300TW T0 400TW budget)? This is my first time to own a second hand car and I want to hear from the expert.
My wife will take the benifits for this, because I'm not always there for her co'z I'm working abroad. I don't want to purchased car and sooner it will be the big headache for her later on.Can anyone will give me specific details what model and engine type the best from both cars? Suggestion lang. If you have a budget of 300k to 400k for a used Revo or Adventure, why not use the money as a downpayment for a brand new Toyota Avanza J (592k yata, even less pag white)? At least you'll be assured of no breakdowns for the 1st 3 years since your wife will be the one to use the car.

i have a 2002 mitsu advie SS gas (now: converted to bi-fuel = gas & LPG, i can use either of the two but i use autoLPG more often because of the pricey gasoline cost), and 2002 toyoa revo GLX diesel (wifey). if you want speed and acceleration, go buy an adventure, if you want space, go buy a revo. With 300k to 400k budget, and your wife is goin' to use it more often more than you do, i suggest go buy a REVO SR or VX200 na gas then convert mo ng bi-fuel (gas & LPG) but if you're skeptic about the conversion, diesel is for you...with the soaring fuel prices kasi, masakit na talaga sa bulsa. tamang tama may mounted monitors na yun sa headrest ng frontseats, good for your children para behave sila while your wife is driving.

And soaring fuel prices notwithstanding, you'll still want to go with a diesel for durability, efficiency and mileage, in which case the Adventure will be the better bet. Its 4D56 diesel engine is one of the most reliable despite its age; kita mo naman, ginawan pa ng CRDi version para sa Strada. More importantly, the Adventure is still very much alive in the market, so you're assured of continued parts support. And that means peace of mind.

either of this two are okay as long as pipiliin mo ay diesel variant. It lacks the speed pero mas matipid silang di hamak compared th their gas siblings. Pero kung ako ikaw adventure na lang.

You should always put into consideration that what you'll soon to drive is old and it might give you problems anytime. Hopefully they're not big problems enough to give you both a headache.

your adventure used a toroidal or cylindrical LPG kit? How come you said space wise, revo is better than adventure? Is this legroom, back cargo space, back bench seats, 2nd row?

kung gusto mo tahimik at mas mura ang maintenance,mag revo gas fed engine ka.daming sport runner naka ad.for less than 400k.

kung hanap mo naman ay diesel torque,mag advie ka. smooth and reliable 4d56 engine,daming parts kahit saan.

400K budget.. hmm.. konti na lang brand new na yan.. ipon pa nang kaunti.. tapos bili ka na lang brand new.. walang sakit nang ulo.. lalo na kung wife mo gagamit..

If you are really bent on these two vehicles....

1. just stay away from gasoline-fed Adventures and Revos (particularly the GSX 2.0L model. Malakas sa fuel consumption.

2. between diesel-fed Adventure and Revo....engine-wise I will tilt towards the 4D56...but

3. if you can find the most worthwhile, better maintained, and relatively more recent unit (like the VX240D Revo)...then you may consider it a BEST buy for the amount of money you mentioned.

my adventure uses the cylidrical tank, mahal kasi torroidal e.

re: space

from the front driver & passenger seat to the back cargo space mas malaki talaga ang revo. With the driver's seat fully adjusted to the maximum, sa advie tumatama pa din yung manibela sa legs ko while sa revo mas maluwag. as for sa lapad (sa loob), mas lapad pa din ang revo plus yung adjust-an ng power windows sa adventure, nasa hip level kaya masakit pag 4 na sumakay sa 2 row, while sa revo, above hip level kaya maluwag plus yun nga wider space. And lastly, sa back cargo space or bench seats (basta sa pinaka likod), maluwag pa din ang revo dahil mas mahaba ang revo. if you would seat sa likod with 2 persons seating in each bench, comfortable sa revo unlike sa adv na nauuntog untog na yung andun sa nakaupo beside the rear glass/ pinto. And sa parking lot, nakikita ko yung length difference ng adventure saka revo kasi pag yung adv ang nakapark dun, ang laki ng space pa na natitira sa parking lot (reference is from the gate) enough for 2 persons to pass side by side ha, unlike sa revo na enough lang daan ng 1 tao

i love our adventure more than the revo, pero i can't deny the fact that the revo has superior space compared sa adventure.

If you’re decided on pre onwed.

It’s a 50-50 for me as long as both are diesel… Revo GLX / SR or Adventure GLS Sport / Super Sport basta wag entry level sana para maganda interior and powered therefore walang sisi in the end.

Also consider the condition. Remember, when you go for a pre-owned hindi pwedeng gamit lang ng gamit lalo sa umpisa. You still have so many things to check. Prepare some thousand pesoses for parts and maint. para less worries especially when you use it on long drives.

I will go for Revo gas, basta first-owned and well maintained yung unit. Kasi, marami akong napansin na mga Revo buyers lalo na yung gas ay for family use ang purpose nila whereas pag adv and revo (diesel) pa baka ginawa na yang pamasada, sakit lang ng ulo misis mo sa maintenance. Anyway kung family use lang ay bearable na yung gas price lalo na medyo tumaas dollar (+ for OFW) and bumababa na oil price sa world market. To add, check mo rin odo reading.

Advice ko lang:

- Pag showroom ka ng second-hand car, may additional na patong yun kasi may agent ng involved and rent sa puesto. But mas madali ang paperworks kasi sila na ang mag-ayos.
- Buy ka ng Buy and Sell na magazine para scan mo yung mga for sale na Revo or Adventure, direct ka na sa seller and may idea ka na sa price ng unit na gusto mo.
- Make sure first owned yung unit as much as possible.
- Magsama ka ng mekaniko and driver mo when inspecting the unit.
- Test drive the unit, check the odo reading.
- Meron din thru internet na seller. Puede ka na mag-canvass sa mga website.
- Before you pay, check mo rin yung papers ng sasakyan, hingi ka ng photocopy then check mo sa LTO o Crame kung walang record.
- As much as possible visit mo yung unit sa bahay para in case na may problema later on ay alam mo kung san nakatira yung seller. Pag sa showroom, mahirap maghabol sa agent.

I agree with brad ezem. Ako naman Revo VX200 na LPG converted na rin. Sa lakas lumaklak ng gasolina ng Revo, LPG is the way to go.

If it's for your wife, get the Adventure gas na A/T. She'll probably get about 7-8kms/liter na FC (my Revo is only 5kms/liter).

Pero kung marunong ng M/T si misis (di katulad ko, matic lang ang alam), then you have a wide range of choices for diesels. Baka meron rin kayo makita na Crosswind?

Meron nagbebenta sa club namin ng VX200, 385k na lang. Sobrang mura yun, considering na 2003 model, and top-of-the-line with LCD screens na. Pero it'll give you a suspicion how thirsty the Revo is.
