First and foremost i would like to say you have an excellent and informational forum here. I'm a longtime lurker and decided to join so that you can help me arrive to a vehicle purchase decision.

I'm choosing between the above models for my purchase. This will be my first ride. My passengers would be my wife + 3 kids (7,3 & 2 mo. old) and a yaya. We normally travel to batangas 2x a month, other than that bahay office lang.

Since i'm a new car owner i'm really clueless on what to buy and haven't visited any toyota dealer because i want na meron na akong alam na konti pag punta dun.

Another question is that if i get it for example at 40% downpayment what other fees do i have to pay, so that i will know my total cash out.

    40% downpayment:

    Avanza G - P295,000
    Innova J - P305,200

    Thanks and more power.

I'd go for the Innova, as it's roomier. Still, it's not as roomy as a Crosswind (the XTO is in the same price bracket), but it's okay, I guess, if your yaya will be comfortable riding in the third row with the luggage.

The Avanza is big enough, actually, but there's no space for cargo.

Best bet? Take the whole family along and go to the showroom to check how it fits.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I'd go with the Innova J with the 2.0L VVT-i engine please and manual transmission.

It is roomier, has a better engine, good power-to-weight ratio, longer wheelbase (which will translate to a better ride), etc.

Aside from the downpayment, you also need to pay the first year's comprehensive insurance, 3 years LTO registration fee, & chattel mortgage fee (since you are getting one in installment terms).

i agree with mazdamazda, it is jut bigger and suitable for your growing family. however, not same standard features.. G is top of line compare to J

Welcome to tsikot. I’d go with the Avanza G being the top of the line.
If it’s going to be against the Innova E or G I’d choose the Innova instead.

I'm going with Innova J. It's bare compared to the Avanza G, but then it's more spacious and has a better engine (assuming you're getting a Gas model).

if you are going for a gas engine = you can choose either avanza or innova
if you want more space and comfort for the passengers = innova
if you want a compact ride = avanza
if you dont have enough money but want a top of the line model = avanza G
if you have enough money but bare model = innova J

    engine displacement:
    innova J = 2.0
    avanza G = 1.5

for me, i would go for the Avanza G.. mas gusto ko kasi ng compact vehicle, madali pa ipark, doesnt need more space sa garage, walang problem sa traffic at sa mga eskinita o kalsadang masikip.. at medyo matipid sa gas compare sa innova..

Power windows are a good feature to have also. I alternate between the Pajero (power windows) and the W123 MB (pawis windows) and it really makes me appreciate the Pajero's power windows. Lalo na't may mga guardhouse ngayon na nasa passenger side na ang guard. Makes it easier to communicate with people on the curbside also (e.g. magtatanong ka sa tao dahil nawawala ka na).

what other fees do i have to pay
Insurance, LTO, chattel mortgage among others. Some accessories may also require up front payment since they cannot be integrated into the financing scheme.

Best bet? Take the whole family along and go to the showroom to check how it fits
It's best to do this. Arrange for a test drive also. Mahirap naman kung too late mo nang malalamang may biyahilo pala si yaya at susuka lang ng susuka while seated sa 3rd row. Check which one will hold your childseat better. This is assuming you transport your kids using the appropriate seating and restraint systems.

i think pwede rin lagyan ng topload sa taas yung avanza for extra luggage.. just like other AUVs like revo, xwind, adventure.. kaso wala pa ata nito available for the avanza..

Kindly check if the Avanza has a load-bearing roof. Not all vehicles is capable of such and might cause structural damage in the long run.

For example, the Adventure even has roof rails as standard but upon closer inspection it is indicated that those are for "aesthetic purposes" only and should not be loaded regardless of weight.

sa tingin ko innova ka nalang.

u have to also consider the luggage ur carrying. strollers, bags, etc...

kung hindi man maging masikip yan sa avanza e baka sakto sakto lang kayo dyan.

go innova. ang power amenities pwede remedyohan o pagtyagaan pero ang space e fix na.

Korek, the adventure's roof rail is purely "garnish" lang unlike that of revo's. Bro, since it's gonna be your 1st ride, i'm pretty sure tatagal sa 'yo yan at alam mo naman tayong mga pinoy mahilig sa "senti-value". kaya don't think of today only, think of 5-10 years or beyond from now. how's your needs gonna be? streeetch your budget a bit and get innova's 2nd if not top of the line.

in my case, ang tagal ko din nag-isip for my new "baby". i started considering 2nd hand sedans then pickup for the luggage then naisip ko kung madami kaming sakay e d masyadong masaya kase iba ang usapan sa likod then i thought of AUV... finally, revo came to mind -- a 2nd-hand. pinagaralan ko pros & cons then all of a sudden as in overnight namin pinagusapan ng wife ko na why not yung budget namin for a used revo e ipang down na lang... boom! kinaumagahan tumawag na ako sa toyota then nagpareserve ng revo SR diesel. 4th bday na nya this march 30.

we're enjoying its room and features... 3years ng paghulog e parang wala lang sa bilis ng panahon. go for innova's top of the line kc ang perang pinangdagdag mo e kikitain mo pa yan. best wishes.

innova j nalang... di naman forever maliit kids mo eh.

plus if you can buy 2.0L engine for the money. mas value tlaga. although you'd be giving up some power features. mas value pa din tlaga ang Innova.

yeah, kung sa power amenities na lang, madaling remedyuhan. a lot of reputable car accessories shops have durable brands and models of power locks and power windows, among other things.

The Avanza G is already a good buy, if you think about it. Not only it is fully loaded, it has a driver-side airbag & and economical engine 1.5 VVT-i compared to the Innova J.

The only problem is when your 3 children gets older.

This changes if when you compare it w/ the Innova E, G or even V.

Avanza G or Innova J? What to buy?
