    1. TOYOTA corolla gli 1994+ (walang problema sa parts, kamusta naman FC ng 4afe mga sir?)
    2. HONDA civic LXI 96+ (non vtec, mas matipid ba yung ph15 ksa sa may vtec na? :D)

Here are my reviews for the two abovementioned cars.
THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car of the Week - Honda Civic (1996-2000)
THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car of the Week - Toyota Corolla (1993-1998)

The Toyota, wala kang problem sa parts and 4A-FE fuel consumption is decent enough, kasing pareho ng 2E Carb.
Civic LXi, same fuel economy with the VTi
City is more fuel efficient than the Civic LXi

    My other suggestions include:
THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car of the Week - Nissan Sentra (1995-2001)
THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car of the Week - Mitsubishi Lancer (1993-1999)

Basta try mo muna magipon pa ng marami so you can have other choices as well

Parts for the Honda?

For 150k, I'd get a Corolla GLi (as new as possible). Our old 1996 GLi did 8.5 km/L in city driving, which is good enough for a car of its vintage. Much faster than the non-1.6 options you're considering as well. As the equivalent of the Vios in the 90's, parts are abundant.

thank you po sa mga reply niyo mga brod, keep em coming! ehehe, if ever corolla na po talaga, ano po kaya yung mga points to look out pag tumitingin ng corolla? for a GLI na 96 magkano kaya fair price.. sorry po dami tanong, student palang po kasi, and ako mismo maghahanap kaya ayun..

mas mukhang modern lang po yung civic and gusto ko yung interior niya.. and may somehow "exclusivity" kasi di siya ginagawang taxi dito hehe.. pero practically ano kaya ang better choice? how bout sentra po?

I think there are Corolla Big Body models na below 150k.

The Lancer Pizza is fine but watch out for the suspension at servo problems, kung Itlog naman suspension. Parts are aplenty naman since mabenta siya and fuel efficiency is decent.

Kung Sentra I think below 150k can get you a decently equipped Super Saloon model na 1995-1999. Pwede rin EX Saloon (efi siya) pero since you mentioned na ayaw mo ng 2E Corolla, best avoid the FE model na carb siya.

So here are my options list:
    1. Corolla GLi
    2. Sentra Super Saloon
    3. Sentra EX Saloon
    4. Lancer Pizza GL (1996-1999)
    5. Civic LXi
    6. City
    7. Lancer Pizza GLXi

Wala nang masososyalan sa 15 year old compact car.

Ano naman kung ginawang taxi yung AE101, most of them have been phased out or run down to a point beyond repair by taxi operators, so di na rin maraming AE101 na taxi makakasabay mo.

Masyado mataas resale value ng Civic to be a practical choice. Corolla or Sentra talaga for me. Yung matitipid mo ibili mo nalang ng 4AGE or SR20DE

    Or pwede ring dagdag panggasolina..

EX saloon is efi na 1.4 the Super saloon is efi na 1.6. FE carb lang siya...

Matipid sa tatlo? I think hindi gaano malayo ang differences nila

the lower resale value is because of the perception is that sentras are inferior to the others. but many believe it's at par with the rest of the competition.
it all started in 1989, when nissan first entered the local market. the competition reportedly tried to destroy its reputation via "we bulong" movement. some say the dis-reputation was valid, because the product stunk. others say otherwise.
at any rate, some wise buyers take advantage of the situation by buying used sentras and end up enjoying everything that the competition can offer, at lower cost..

Magandang kotse yung AE101 Corolla. 1.6GLi is fast and economical enough. Resale value us rather high though, which means you will be getting a rather old unit.

I'd skip the Civic LXi. Non-VTEC means it is inferior to the Corolla in terms of performance and entry price is also higher due to this being a newer model.

The City is very fuel efficient and agile. A good car for a student, Its just that I find the 1st gen model to look rather plain. No, make that very plain.

Might I suggest you consider the Nissan Sentra as well. Lower resale value means you can get a much newer unit for your budget. 2000 model is within reach.

Another one you may be interested in is the Ford Lynx. Like the Sentra, circa 2000 models are within reach of your budget. Personally, I like this one the most.

Remember, look for manual models only!

One wildcard pick that you can consider is the Daihatsu Feroza. Bagay na bagay sa bahain place since you've mentioned na taga USTe ka.

THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car Review - Daihatsu Feroza (1989-1999)

Parts are not to find since kapareho siya ng Toyota, but fuel economy can be somewhat poor dahil carburetor siya.

    Worth a look
