October 10th, 2013 08:47 PM #1Hi,
I want to have more inputs, suggestions sa pagbili ng used car. Plano kasi namin bumili ng wife ko this coming November with our max budget of 250k. Sa pag check ko sa Sulit at Ayosdito website, eto yung mga pinagpipilian namin.
1. Honda City IDSI 2002-2004
2. Lancer GLS 2003-2004
3. Nissan Sentra 2005/2006
4. Toyota Altis 2002-2004
I didn't include vios kasi parang weird yung panel gauge na nasa gitna. Ang mga concerns ko eh;
1. Parts availability & cost (since used car)
2. Fuel Consumption (mostly city driving lang)
3. Airconditioning system and comfortability
4. Exterior design (di malapad at di mahirap iparada)
Salamat.

October 10th, 2013 10:18 PM #2in my opinion, they are all ok. of course, someone always has favorites, and i am sure other threaders here will tell you this or that, depending on their personal likes or dislikes.
the major factor in deciding how happy you will be, is the tender loving care the car received from its previous owner..
my other personal ideas:
manual trans is usually less problematic than automatic; they also consume less gas than their automatic version.
the more expensive unit of the same model, will probably give you less headaches.
i loved my sentra. can't believe i sold her.. sentras also have lower resale value, but not necessarily lower product quality.. a positive point if i must say so.
exterior dimensions? look up the specs. get a car mag and see the listings. they're all there. or google it. but the sentra does love 1695 mm width.. and it has a tight turning circle.
parts availability are not a problem among your choices.
comfort? you will have to try out each car and see for yourself, because my body dimensions are not like yours...
good luck.

October 10th, 2013 11:52 PM #3thanks for the shared infos, but is it true that sentra's consume fuel a lot? We like senrta sana kasi medyo class ang looks and the price is really affordable for a used one, kaya lang maraming forums na nagsasabi na matakaw sa fuel ang sentra.

October 11th, 2013 05:22 AM #4If youre leaning towards fuel consumption, go for the city!
If overall (maintenance cost, reliability over FC which is a small diff) i'd go with the altis.
Was never fan of mitsu excepts evos so wala ko masasabi jan.
With the nissan naman, either you love it or hate it. Interior plastic of low-mid variants feels and looks a bit cheap. Napansin ko din to having owned a cefiro 2.0 v6 a32 before, same fc as 2.4 accord. Parang nissan in general is slightly on the higher end of the scale when it comes to fc.
You might also want to consider the optra check your inbox sir.

if your leaning towards f.c.... consider also the accent...
parts are cheap... the most powerful among your choices
great for city driving... because of its fuel economy...
sa sobrang tipid nito... what you can save on fuel can be used for maintenance and accessories na din... that's how tipid it is...
got plastic interiors nga lang... upgrade mo nalang....

City IDSI - May have problems with the transmission but definitely the most efficient and easy to drive of the bunch
Lancer GLS - Fuel consumption isn't too good
Sentra - Okay but fuel consumption is likewise not as good (7-8km/L in the city)
Altis - Okay but you'll have to find a fresh unit at that age. Back-up sensors too to help your wife in parking
Try also looking for a Vios 2005. Check the Manila Bulletin Classifieds on Sundays.

October 11th, 2013 03:01 PM #7salamat sa infor sir but sorry din kasi we don't prefer Chevs. Class and interior and exterior designs but most of the parts eh mahirap hanapin. Since my wife will be using most of the time, she doesn't have the time to check and shop for parts in case masira.
Again, thanks for your input.
