I assume the LC you're looking at is the V8 gas engine right?

For luxury and comfort, the Exped definitely. For fuel consumption, quits lang yan give or take 1/km/L difference between the two (maybe around 3-4km/L in the city and around 6-8km/L on the highway depending on conditions). For resale, the LC will have an edge but expect it to be hard to sell if its a gas variant.

For parts, the LC100 isn't as common as the Exped so the Exped may have a better parts bin availability at the dealers. You'll have to resort to ordering uncommon parts for the LC100 (which the dealer can do as well but you may have to wait). Otep's dad has an LC100 and he may give give some feedback on how its been in terms of maintenance.

Not sure on the 08 Exped but the V8 100 is now my father's long distance weapon of choice vs his 01 exped. And i have tried both. The 100 may not win on all out power but it drives better and the seats are more comfy according to relatives who do road trips with us.

The 100 controls are also easier to use and fall naturally to hand better than the exped especially when travelling at speed.

And considering that the exped and 100 are both given good care, the ford is less reliable. The 100 is also easier to service since there are numerous shops that work on cruisers alone. I have yet to find an expedition only shop. Hehe.

I dont mean to sound biased and i was once a land cruiser skeptic too. But the performance of the vehicle and its reliability and relative ease of maintenance have won me over. Most 4x4 enthusiasts at the hospital also roll on cruisers. The affluent, non enthusiast doctors are the ones that usually go for the exped.

Iba kasi dating ng exped, when you pull over... Wow.

When someone asks you kung ano oto mo then you say expedition wow ulit

People tend to forget the little things than the lc can offer, might not match the exped's image, iba convenience niya sa overall long-term practicality

Yung Exped kasi ang pumalit sa Pajero, ganun din ang dating pag naka Pajero ka during the late 80' and the 90's pero ngayon halos wala nang dating ang Pajero, no thanks to Subic/Port Irene converted units.

True, for most people the Exped is an aspirational vehicle, kumbaga iba ang dating pag naka Exped. Pero for me the LC is a notch above the Exped and Suburban.

If money was no object and I were in the market for a new SUV, I'd definitely go with the LC200. To hell with X5's, Range Rover and etc.

Iba ang dating ng exped sa general public. Pero parang hanggang dun na lang. Would i put up and live with one? Probably not.

Its the only vehicle ive seen that practically self destructs while parked. The dashboard is flaking, the side mouldings are starting to rot out, even the tailgate release has failed with no human intervention. Its not so funny. And now my dad is bugging me to have the brakes fixed as it tends to stick and overheat.

Maybe thats why there are more cruisers in africa and the middle east. Hehe.

It does help that the current president is a land cruiser enthusiast.

No experience with LC at all but here's
my take on this topic as our family used to own a Gen 1 Expedition, and currently own a Gen 2 Eddie Bauer and Gen 3 Eddie Bauer EL.

    '10 Expedition Eddie Bauer EL
    Performance:
Powerful V8 engine, I'd say its more than enough for the car even at full load. Our expedition goes on regular trips to Baguio,
and once a year to Sagada, Tabuk, etc. Never encountered any problems. Good for over taking and no problems with rough roads

    Luxury:
The EL is quite loaded, I would say sunroof and xenon headlamps lang kulang. It's got power seats, leather all around, triple zone
auto climate control, Ford sync (supports ipod, usb, etc), Power tailgate, power fold seats, huge space in all 3 rows and luggage
capacity, ours comes stock with 20" wheels

It's so much different and better compared to the Gen 2 and specially the Gen 1. Dashboard is modern and controls are well laid
    out. Iba na talaga.

    Resale:
When it comes to resale, i think land cruisers are much better. But since you're buying second hand, the first owner already
suffered a lot of the depreciation

    Consumption:
what do you expect from a 5.4 V8 gasoline engine on a big heavy body? ours consumes around 3+ to 4km/l city and on long trips
it can get as high as 8-9. (6 speed automatic)

    Maintenance:
Maintenance is more expensive than your regular japanese car but personally i think it's still reasonable for what you get.
We never encountered any major problems with any of our units. None were garage queens.

I just got hme because the expedition stalled along commonwealth. Had to go home and tow it with the land cruiser.

Worst part was, ford did not equip 4x2 expeditions with front tow hooks. How dumb is that. Even a vios has a front tow point.

Its wierd that even tow hooks are optional on some cbrands like jeep. Skidplates are optional too. No wonder boring japanese brands are the vehicles of choice in harsh environments.

ford expedition EB EL 2008 vs. Toyota Land cruiser 2005
