Hyundai Accent 1.6 GLS Blue A/T

    Hyundai Elantra 1.6 GL A/T

    Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6V A/T

Dyan sa suggestions ko, Corolla Altis ang best Quite pricey pero ganda features.

My lola had a Corolla, but hers was a 1.8L. It has a great handling either on city traffic or highway, and very comfortable. I used to drive automatic Corollas, and they were already nice on fuel consumption, then with a manual transmission it's even better...

The choices would be (in my opinion)
    - Toyota Corolla Altis (in 6MT baby!)
    - Hyundai Elantra (made it second so we can wait for any hidden problems)
    - Hyundai Accent
    - Mazda 3 (still good value)
    - Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia
    - Nissan Sentra GSX (ok but kinda old)

    there you have it

6MT is a good feature to improve the fuel-efficiency on highway traffic, but I still like the comfort of an automatic transmission. But, instead of the outdated 4-speed automatic, would be great if Toyota started to use the CVT already used in the JDM Corolla Axio and the 2.0L Altis into the 1.6L Altis...

Underpowered. Get the 1.6L Sentra, it gives roughly the same economy as the 1.3L does.

You're right. There is no replacement for displacement

In the 1.6L class, the Altis 1.6 6-speed still give a solid, value for money ownership IMO. It doesn't top any contest but seems to score well enough and consistently in all aspects of space, ample power, reliability and comfort for the daily grind.

Even with automatic transmission the Altis is a good option as far as fuel-efficiency goes. I used to drive one when I was 17 (without a driver license but I did it frequently).
