bro, get the 2.7 vvti its the best bang for your buck SUV in the market today! for just 1.3M you'll get spacious interior, powerful yet efficient engine, and rock hard reliablity! plus you'll still have money left for upgrades and enhancements!![]()
2.5D4D
cons:
nakawin, maiinit sa mata, mahirap iwanan kasama driver
2.7VVTi
cons:
nadadamay sa popularity ng D4D
So far, there's been no mechanical update, so, yes, the suspension is still really stiff.
From the front, the ride is stiff but still tolerable. In the back, it gets worse. because you're closer to the rear end and sitting higher up inside the vehicle. It's bearable in the city if you lower the tire pressures, but it gets pretty shaky on the highway or in the provinces.
Budget an additional 40k pesos to buy the aftermarket springs for the Fortuner, they help a lot. Other solutions include buying aftermarket shocks, filling the tires with nitrogen and/or getting more road-biased (softer-sidewalled) tires.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
the 2.5 d4d is not a good match for the fortuner... mabagal masyado for me. a bit tolerable if city driving ka lang.
between the Gs, 2.7 gas din ako. compensated na yan sa P60K difference.
or go for the 3.0 V
2.5 d4d mabagal na matag tag pa! u have to change the rear shocks pa! sa gas nalang ako kahit na matagtag mas mabils naman
2.7 VVTi for me. Almost as powerful as the the 3.0 D-4D, but much cheaper.
On paper, the 2.7 vvti * 160 HP is 3HP short of the 3.0 D-4D's 163 HP. It is quick if you really dont care about saving gas, since it is optimized to run quickly at very high rpms.
bro 2.5 d4d is just good enough sa innova... for fortuner being a/t transmission when full stop mabagal sa arankadahan because of its heavier body and bigger tires but if you are in na at a speed of 50kmh responsive na sya...
I don't know about July.
The springs? Not sure about the brand, but a lot of places carry lowering springs for the Fortuner already. You'll have to search the Fortuner Owners' Thread for recommendations.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
GA Motorports yata yung nag ca-carry ng comfort shocks for the Fortuner.
They have an ad in the current C! Magazine... nakakatawa... they really dissed the Fortuner's ride (well, which is true if you are seating in the 2nd & 3rd rows) before promoting their product.

Get the 2.7 vvt-i. The d4d is only a pleasant drive if it is a 3.0 displacemnet. i have driven a 2.5 d4d and felt a lag upon depressing the gas pedal. If you get the gas variant you will save 60k plus you will have a quieter cabin.

medyo stiff talaga ang suspension ng fort.. pero na compensate naman nito sa comfort and cushion ng rear seats nya.. na for me the most comfy of all.. tyka nbwasan naman ung tagtag sng binaba namin ung tire pressure from 40 psi to 28psi front, 29 rear... and we consume about 6.5 to 7.5 km/l city, 10 to 11 km/l highway at a steady 100km/h running on national highways..
so far it seems that the edge goes to the gas version even if it would be more costly from a gas consumption point of view. however, what about maintenance? can anyone comment if the gas or the diesel variant (4x2) is cheaper or more expensive to maintain?![]()
