Its really hard for me to decide between these two pickup trucks priced at 1,365,000 and 1,283,000 respectively. Im in dire need of professional advices and comments and opinions of the owners of each vehicle.

    Main points:

    Reliabilty
    Maintenance Costs
    Overall performance
    Fuel Consumption
    Replacement parts cost and availability.

PS: Strictly limited to 2016 models.

Get the Toyota Hilux, better reliability, cheaper to maintain, better parts availability ...

Based on the criteria, Hilux has an edge on maintenance, reliability and parts. The Ranger may have the edge in ride comfort.

Ali ba mas recommended? AT o MT? Hows the fuel economy of each?

Same parts availability-imo, with so many buyers of ford nowadays, some shops started carrying parts for the ranger and everest. The new fortuners and hilux are also new. I dont think all shops have parts for the new suvs/pickups. Hoping the shops carry the new parts for these new big sellers from ford and toyota.

    Same reliability imo
Same fuel consumption if both mt/at

Only difference will be which transmission you want to get.

Hilux if you value maintenance and reliability. Ford may have improved but personally wouldn't want one as a daily driver.

Parang apple vs oranges. Choose automatic, be it a Ranger or Hilux kasi nga sobrang trapik. Pagdating sa after sales service both brand have good dealers like Ford Balintawak, Ford Commonwealth, Toyota Balintawak, Toyota North EDSA but never ever Toyota Commonwealth (super palpak). Pyesa meaning major parts like pangilalim (suspension), transmissions (clutch), engine (piston rings, overhaul gaskets, timing chain or belts), steering (pitman arm, ball joints). Yung oil, oil filter, gulong, mags, parehas lang naman cost nyan be it Ford or Toyota.
Pag dating sa gadgets pareho din lang na madaming aftermarket parts like lift kits, chrome accents, etc. just to make truck more personalized.

Modern ATs are very good nowadays so I don't think magkakaproblem ka in that respect of smoothness or ever responsiveness. However may issue yun AT ng fortuner which yun unit ng mother ko is affected. It is now addressed naman by toyota to our satisfaction. I guess test drive ka muna ng hilux AT then you can make your decision. AT is nothing short of a godsend lalo na sa manila traffic nowadays.

the AT versus MT battle has reached mahabharatha proportions.
there is an entire thread dedicated to this topic alone.
    peruse it, sir.
in the end, my conclusion is, "it is always a personal choice".
i have both AT and MT. and even then, the pros and cons do not paint a clear picture choice that covers all driving conditions. i usually pick one over the other, depending on the type of driving i am about to embark on.

fuel efficiency? on paper, MT trumps AT. but there are those who will dis-agree. we each have our own driving styles.
