October 11th, 2022 04:54 PM #11With gas prices the way they are, get the hybrid.
EV/hybrid tech is getting better, ICE cars might get a big drop in (resale) value in 5 yrs time. Evident on some brands transitioning to hybrids/EV and some are EOL'ing their flagship guzzlers.

one more thing...
my sister's Honda SA told her na wala nang non-Turbo HR-V na lalabas this year.
may pila na din yung Kicks.
Both are expected to have a price increase.

October 11th, 2022 09:07 PM #13Nissan Note e-Power came out 2016 in Japan. Nissan e-Power series hybrid builds on electric-car expertise
More or less same drivetrain as the Kicks, just a slightly smaller battery.

I remember dati dami nagpa convert taxi to LPG dahil mas mura nga.
Pero nung dumami nagpa convert, tumaas din presyo LPG to the point na naging maliit nalang difference price ng gas at LPG.
Baka ganito din mangyari if all cars are EV na.
For sure tataas presyo ng kuryente, affected pa mga household consumers.
Kukulangin pa nga supply natin usually especially during summer season.

October 12th, 2022 12:23 AM #16Mukhang lamang HR-V sa interior comfort at space.
Kicks in paper lamang sa power.
May time mag charge sa stop and go traffic.

yeah the battery is tinywould be interesting to see how it performs when you completely deplete the batt like in the scenario you described
so what'll happen is the 1.2 will act as generator, lots of power losses there. then electricity will go through various power electronics (more power losses), before being fed into electric traction motor WITHOUT the assistance of battery coz it's depleted. so it'll probably perform worse than a 1.2L directly driving the wheels
between kicks and hrv i'd probably pick the honda. epower is very complex compared to pure ICE or pure EV. lots of things that could go wrong. low power electronics like ECU can be very reliable, but power elec w/ lots of large capacitors and MOSFETs, not so much

technically... an engine powering a generator is more efficient that an engine powering the wheels directly.
for me. the choice is basically how long do you plan to have the car maintained by Nissan...
Its the reason why my sister chose the HR-V, she can't imagine bring a 5 year old car to Nissan for repairs (if something goes wrong)

Then need ng time mag charge. Hehe.
