Good Buy: It's a toss up. Do conduct a test drive to see if either the Avanza or the Grand Livina suits your needs.
Easy to Maintain: Both are easy to maintain but the Avanza has more spare parts which are cheaper.
Fuel Consumption: No idea on this, but the Avanza J is heavy so it could guzzle gas more than it's 1.5 variant. The Livina's fuel consumption for the 6MT is higher than the automatic. Do research about this
Driving Comfort: The Livina drives like a car (thanks to it's front drive configuration) the Avanza is decent but cannot comment on this.
Paki sabi nalang yung mga needs and priorities mo. good luck!
Avanza is a lot easier to maintain for being rear wheel driven. Rear suspension is solid axle then front is independent suspension fewer linkages than livina, avanza is lighter than livina due to lacking of insulation and sound deadening. Surprisingly avanza is roomier and has bigger cargo than livina when their 3rd row seats are folded. Down side of it is quite matagtag and cabin is noisy during high speed cruising except on smooth roads like sctex, daming vibration sa body. Livina is more comfy suspension is softer parang kotse.
why go through all the trouble if you want comfort eh kung pwede mo na piliin yung mas comfortable na ride in the first place?
i vote for the GL. better comfort+power+utility and hindi taxi
Livina for me. Its ahead in the power and comfort stakes. As for durability, i have no actual experience but our ownership of Nissan vehicles in the last 18 years has been quite positive in that aspect.
Get the Grand Livina looks better & sturdier to me due to its lower ground clearance.
Downside would be the 3 rows would have to share the AC at the front unlike in the Avanza, there's an AC system at the 2nd row ( dual a/c )

TS, what grade/model ng avanza/livina ang balak mo kunin?
i know people who own a livina XR Luxury and the avanza 1.5G A/T
for the avanza
Maintenance- Reasonable based on casa prices (PMS ranges from 3k-8k)
Fuel Consumption- 10-12km/L
Driving Comfort- City Driving ok naman raw, medyo alangan ng konti sa highway dahil medyo maliit nga siya
for the livina
Maintenance- Halos same lang ng avanza (PMS ranges from 4k-10k)
Fuel Consumption- 8-10km/L
Driving Comfort- Parang kotse dala mo
these are the observations of people i know which own the cars in comparison
livina parin hehehe had the livina manual since 2011...kung comfort pag uusapan livina saka okay interior design niya...kung room space....pwede naman itupi 3rd row seats and partial sa 2nd row...sometimes we use the livina to deliver some goods in the north...drove avanza before...pero mas comfortable parin sa livina.........
Hi Guys,
Ilang Km/L ba ang Livina(manual) in heavy and moderate traffice?

Livina is 1.8 liter. Bigger engine than Avanza. I drove it up to Mt. Sto Tomas (La Presa) with 5 adults. No sweat.
