    hello there!

im looking for a new car. im a college student and its my first time driving. my mom wants me to buy a "practice car" from what she had been referring to lately. she's been telling me that i might crash the car so she wont be buying me an expensive one first. i dont know much about cars really. her budget is 80k. so any suggestions what models i can buy for that kind of car?i want something good looking so yeah.

im just going to drive it around my area only or in my school.
    so yeah.
    thanks.

You could probably find a 1990-1992 Toyota Corolla. But it won't have any "power" features like power steering, power locks, power windows, etc. Good condition examples of these would be in the 100K to 130K range.

Your mentioned budget of P80K is really low. It won't get you much of a car, more like a rust bucket where you will end up spending more on repairs.

You can check out the cars advertised on the classifieds section of tsikot.com

    http://tsikot.yehey.com/classifieds/

Some cars that can pass your budget would be the old VW beetle.

    hmmm... tight budge, practice car...

miss, i have a question, saan ka sanay, matic or manual? or should i say which do you prefer, a matic tranny or manual tranny?

kung budget, maybe at that 130k, i could suggest nissan sentra 1.6 super saloon, may power features na yun. or a 1992 model galant gti (ang 1 sa gusto kong kotse), medyo malaking kotse nga lang siya pero may power features na din siya.

maybe buying car ads like car finder, buy and sell may help you. also yun, sabi ni sir gh check the internet like tsikot.biz, or any online classified ads made for cars. hope this helps you and welcome to tsikot family

kia pride. may automatic nyan, yung gtx 4 door, and a couple of 5 door models pero 99 models and later.

ofcmate ko nakabili daw, ni-refer pa ng casa sa kanya, 50k lang.

easy to drive, easy to park, fairly reliable, roomy, cute and chic tignan. pag nasira makina kahit di mo pa overhaul, 8k lang surplus (DAW).

i have to agree with GH here, the 90-92 model corolla can fit that budget. kung lalaruin lang naman, ok lang yung gantong model. baka makachamba pa ng gl model. if im not mistaken, power steering, windows, and locks na yung model na ito.

good! you choose to drive a manual tranny car!

sana yung budget mo is around 130k to 150k, we could suggest a better car. hmmmm, say kung 100k ang budget mo, the choices will be...

    1. ae92 corolla (1992 model), maybe get the 1.6
    2. kia pride, either the sedan or liftback type
    3. nissan sentra eccs (1992 model)
    4. 1989-1992 lancer, kung tawagin eh "singkit" type

    happy car finding miss yukiko!

I still say the Corolla AE89 (16 valve model) is the better choice. Why? Less electronics in it's engine to go wrong (example: sentra eccs. I owned one so I know). Corolla AE92 is better BUT more expensive and way beyond the budget. Kia Pride is too basic and good examples are too few and most are falling apart simply because of lack of maintenance by current owners and age. Lancer 89-92 model, personally I didn't like this car because the body felt too soft and prone to damage even with the slightest of impact. Also there are more better condition units of the Corolla AE89 than of the Lancer. Some already upgraded with power steering, etc as well.

The overall popularity of the Corolla AE89 will also help lower the effort needed to maintain this car. Common parts found on later model Corollas do help as well. Also, if the TS might want, she can update this old car to more modern standards by upgrading the original parts to more modern equivalents found on the Levin models and also later models of the corolla (stuff like engine, disc brakes, power steering, power windows, seats, wheels, etc).

With your budget try considering a 92-94 daihatsu charade. Tibay ng kaha madaling pormahan at masarap i-drive lalo na kapag lowered with 14" mags.

Pasok na pasok ang budget mo.. Matipid sa gas, and easy to maintain at pang girlie pa ang dating. Mas matibay ang kaha nito kesa kia pride and you can be assured na hindi ex-taxi ang makukuha mo

mahirap yata ang parts ng daihatsu bro? tita ko may daigatsu na maulticab few months ago pa naghahanap ng alternator ngayon pa naka kita sa daihatsu a feroza i think is a better choice since engine is from a corolla 1.6cc (not sure what engine code) pero di toh pasok sa budget ng TS nasa 150k yata ito. how about yung honda civic na pre-EG? or kung 80k talaga, tsaga sa paghahanap ng 80k na suzuki carry

corolla AE92 or EE90 aka "small body" halos parehas ang itsura when it comes to the engine well doon naman sila nagkatalo.......
