Deciding between X5 and Prado? That's a really nice problem to have. Hehe.
My choice would be the Prado.
Just to share, though US based, the 2005 ConsumerReport.org's vehicle reliability report (if I read it right, based on consumers feedback on experiences on 2002-2004 models), had these results:
In the midsize SUV category, the X5 was in the bottom 10 (9th lowest out of 23 rated), with a rating of almost 40% below average reliability (A certain scale they use based on the data covered)
The Land Cruiser (not sure lang kung same with locally available Prado), though in another category (Large SUV), got the top most reliability rating of almost 80% above average (out of 14 rated).
Yun lang, depending on where you travel, it might be a little too big rin for a daily ride.Last edited by Autobeat; May 29th, 2006 at 02:47 PM.

i know the gas x5s are the ones who have problems due to overheating problems. but the diesel ones especially the local ones are very reliable.

I'm leaning towards the Prado. but for that budget, IMO, I'd go for a brand new local vehicle instead.

X5 hands down for me, but cars are more of an emotional purchase for me than a practical one. they are less reliable and have much higher cost of ownership, but the looks, performance and driving dynamics will have you grinning everytime you're behind the wheel.
21T kms....aba baby pa yang X5 na yan!! especially in US driving where hindi masyadong nakakalaspag ang mga kalye (hopefully it doesn't come from a snowy state)
