im going to be getting my first car pretty soon, although i still have a few months left. gusto ko lang po humingi ng advice sa mga gurus.
choices are: mitsubishi lancer evolution 7, mitsubishi gto twin turbo mr or vr4, mitsubishi eclipse 2g gst or gsx, toyota mr2 turbo, nissan s15.
last choice ko po is slightly used honda civic 2.0 na i-mmodify ng konti
main concern ko po is maintenance, availability of parts and shop na puwede tumingin nung auto. taga pampanga pa po kasi ako.. and speed hehe.. galing po kasi ako sa sportbike kaya medyo kailangan po yun pa minsan minsan.. thanks in advance

you can't go wrong with a local built civic 2.0 dimension body or FD.
evo, gto and the other cars you mentioned, well, medyo bihira dito yan. marami daw sa port irene pero they will have B plates, so malayo pa lang yung import car mo alam na agad na surplus import, medyo nawawala yung pogi points (me personally kasi, kahit porsche 911 pa yan pag naka B plate iniisip ko lagi "uy kawawa naman konti lang pera pero bumili porsche").
pag naglakad ka sa surplasan sa capalangan or banawe, bihira din piyesa ng mga imports na yan, although for the VR4 and evo 7 local equivalents (galant and lancer nga ba mga yan?) for suspension parts may be found... dunno lang sa 4wd systems nila (wala ka mabibiling active yaw control system na surplus dito).
fixstop araneta avenue can fix up your car, as well as others here pero they are all in manila. last time i was in fixstop they were building 3 subaru impreza wrxs (bat nga ba ayaw mo ng wrx? lumabas dito ito so pwede ka pumunta subaru pilipinas as a last recourse for new parts).

Based on budget, a 1st hand Subaru WRX seems out of reach. The previous-generation WRX might be worth a try though but expect to still fork out a big amount of dough.

March 3rd, 2011 09:54 AM #4sa civic na sir, base sa mga requirements eto ang pinaka qualified.
you pointed out speed, choices will be an SIR or an FD,
pero kung may budget ka go for the FD, mas modelo at marami din aftermarket parts.
and mataas resale value mga civics
