MIVEC- 3-stage: may low, mid at full open...as i recall, sabi nila tumotope pa daw ang makina na ito sa PETRON BLAZE(96RON)...

VTEC- 2-stage: low at full open...except for vtec-3...

MIVEC-MD: MIVEC + modular displacement: has the ability to turn-off 2 of the 4-cylinders, and that offered in a 90's JDM mirage(as i know)

ung locally sold mivec engines check na lang sa manual basta hindi siya ganun kaselan sa gasolina. kasi iba ung profile ng MIVEC nila parang VTEC-E *ata*. hindi ung parang pang rezing-rezing na MIVEC at VTEC na kelangan ng napakataas na octane rating.
