i'm not sure where the rav4's clearance ranks but in increasing order of clearance:

forester - outlander - cr-v.

although i think if umupo ako sa outlander and next to an unladen forester, pantay na. bwahahahahahaha!!!

regarding ride...i have been seeing tsikoteers say na most-carlike daw sa outlander. forester...not sure, but i guess since it's based sa impreza platform, then carlike din siya. i have only driven the outlander, so my personal opinion doesn't count. LOL!

me want the fxt...or outlander turbo.

I think dati hindi pa kasi GM ang nagdala ng legacy dati kaya ganun ang resale value niya. I too think that the outlander would have a high resale value by the time you sell it. Tama si theveed na pajero and lancer lang ang products ng mitsubishi na may high resale value. and konti lang din naman ang bumibili ng outlander. i see more foresters than outlanders on the road.

Subaru Forester. Superior AWD system. Better safety features. Cheaper than the Outlander (P1.2M vs 1.27M). How you would interpret looks is subjective but the Forester is not as "maporma" as a RAV 4. The Subaru packs a little less HP (125 vs 136). The stereo is old style pero pwede mo naman palitan.There are less or limited spare parts distributors though. I think only the AT is available here in the Phils. To help you decide, go for a test drive on the 2 cars although the Forester is more "wagon-ish" than SUV.I might be bias though- I just got my forester 11 days ago. Kuha ka na rin- hindi ka magsisisi. Log on to www.subaruforester.com to learn more about it.

this used to be a fair comparo when the two vehicles were introduced. they were actually very similar vehicles then. there was a few comparos done by several car mags, with the forester always coming out on top. admittedly though, i thought the outlander was (and is IMO) the better looking vehicle. then the XT came out, and the comparos stopped, . but i heard mitsu is coming out with a V6 outlander so stay tuned...they should just slap the EVO engine in an outlander, then it'd be really interesting.

actually... mistubishi has a contender up its sleeve (though it isn't available stateside & in europe - thus the lack of a comparison)... the airtrek turbo-r (240-hp, 4G63T). afaik, it is only avaialble in SEA, Aus & NZ.

intersting that the outlander turbo only makes 200hp (emmission regulations?).

You have to at least think of parts availability. Neither an Outlander nor a Forester will last forever without proper care.
