Despite the Elantra having a 6-speed AT, bakit parang hindi pa rin sya ganon katipid even on highway driving?

Sir, 1.6A/T yung sayo? Anong usual route mo? Parang mababa ata..

A lot of Lancer supporters in this forum, yet all the online rave hasn't really translated into stellar sales.

Perfect choice if you want a really nice car at great affordable price yet not as common as ants (as compared to Civics and Corollas).

Offhand from what I encounter every day, yes. More U** plate Elantras than Lancers. I don't consider the T** plate Elantras since those were sold alongside the pure 2-liter lineup of the Lancer.

Yup, and according to the Mitsu executives, they underestimated the demand for the Lancer EX 1.6 during their first order, hence delays for some buyers for certain colors like white.

OT: Weird that they classify the Rio as a compact and not a subcompact

Sayang talaga yung mga 2.0 na lancer matipid naman, marketing move lang talaga kaya naglabas ng 1.6, most pinoys think 2 liter cars are thirsty...pero honestly sa segment na to basic no frills talaga gusto ng mga tao hence the toyota...

Even if the old 2.0 + CVT is frugal for its displacement and power, it's still thirstier than the new 1.6 on an objective level. For the majority of people anyway, the extra 40 horsepower doesn't matter much, especially when the car will be subjected to mostly urban use.

For those willing to trade a few km/L for performance, there's the Elantra 1.8 GLS and the bare Civic 1.8S, both under 1M. I think a zippy 1.8 is a good compromise since it's almost as fast as the 2-liter bunch (usually with less low-end grunt though) yet is just as fuel efficient as the 1.6 liter engines a decade ago.

GLX M/T sir. I still like the old school manual style of driving. Feeling ko kasi mas less ang control ko sa A/T.. but that's just me. :D
Also, wala din kasi m/t yung MX variant..
