i look at the ground clearance. then i open the hood and look for the distributor and hi tension cables. then i make my decision. (my children go to school via quezon blvd, passing infront of ust.).)

the avanza has a 200 mm ground clearance while typical sedans have about 150 to 160mm.

the avanza does not have a distributor nor hi-tension cables

For me, though Im aware that the price is the same, I'll still choose Avanza 1.5G over Innova 2.0J.

One of the few reasons (personal needs):
-The Vanzy is more ideal for my family (7people at most) in terms of size,
while the Innova is quite BIG and good for the whole clan...

-one drawback of the Avanza (but not a big deal for me, Im not the "Fast& Furious type driver anyway) is stability and resistance because it's lighter than the Innova. Btw, if the Avanza is loaded with 7 average-size people, its total weight is almost or equal to the curb weight of the Innova itself.
    - The Innova has more powerful engine, obviously with 2.0 (gas), but the Avanza equals to or even "stronger" than the Innova in terms of "power-to-weight" ratio.

    - Other reasons can be read on the other forums

One reason kaya nagpalit ng rear suspension ang APV (main rival of Avanza)
from LEAF to COIL spring is because of the riding comfort. But if you treat a vehicle to severe road punishment, then leaf spring would be ideal.

Also, the front-facing 3rd row seat of the Avanza is better compared to the Adventure.

Coil vs Leaf Spring wala naman masyado difference when it comes to comfort and performance

Wanna try? Ride a kalesa, double leaf spring yun, mejo mas ok siya.

    avanza pa rin siguro ako..
pupwede na yung 1.5G diyan itapat, and still winner pa rin ang avanza..

but still, it will still boil down to your needs and wants

I'd prefer the Mitsubishi Adventure than the Avanza.

    1) The Adventure is Diesel. Mas Economical sa Gas Price.
    2) The Adventure is made here in the Philippines. Kaya mas mura ang parts.
    3) The Adventure has sold more than 50,000+ units. So mura ang parts.
    4) The Adventure has a 9-seater Variant. While the Avanza sits 7.
    5) The Adventure has great colors and paintjobs to choose from. (Blue, Red, Black etc.)

For me mismatch, parang feather weight vs welter weight so of course Adventure wins

Mitsubishi Adventure vs. Toyota Avanza
