I remember when I was still choosing a luxury compact then, the SA at Audi was downplaying the other brands including Merc and BMW but most especially Lexus when he said the IS350 is just a glorified Corolla from which the IS was allegedly based.

I told him that he shouldn't compare since both are completely different cars and share almost nothing in common save for probably a few nuts and bolts. The Corolla is FWD, the Lexus is RWD.
