My cousin's dad is retiring in 6 months and he is planning on giving himself a retirement gift...

which would you choose, a Lexus/Toyota LC100 or Mercedes Benz car for the same price range (around 4.5M)? Don't know anything about these cars....

    Shucks.. inggit ako....

That depends. For me, LC's are good because they really last a long time and hold their value.

    Drives over almost anything, too.

Comfort? At 4.5 million? Lots to choose from... don't limit the choice to just the two... and are we talking brand new? Volvo S80s are pretty nice in that price range... but a good investment would be a new Bimmer.

New Jags are very comfortable, very posh and have a great old world charm. Real wood and leather add to the appeal. Some people find the interior a little small, but it's cozy and warm. Don't know if a new XJ6 fits into his price range, though.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    LC100 is the Landcruiser/LX450/LX470 right?

and the Benz he's getting for 4.5 will be the C-class (230)?

if the choice is between those two, i'd go for the Toyota. much more utility, Toyota reliability, and more room to haul the grandchildren around in.

    nasa 3-3.1M ang C Class.(nxt yr, lalabas na rin yung 07' model).mini S-class.
yung 4.5M budget, pang E-class or SLK200 (kompressor). medyo flashy nga lang yung SLK.

For P4.5M, you can get an MB E280 Elegance (236hp, 7-speed A/T). I'd pick this over the LC100.

    Though given other choices in that price range, I'd also take a look at the Volvo XC90 T6 (P4.6M, 268hp), Audi A6 3.2 (P4.7M, 255hp, 7-speed CVT), and the Chrysler 300C Hemi (a "bargain" at P3.25M, 340hp).

hahaha..tama ka dun, pero matigas ang suspension ng LC. (marami akong kilalang senior citizen na bumili ng SUV..nahirapan sila i-drive..sobrang laki daw, matigas/mabigat ang manibela, hirap i-park & matalbog).
