Lancer EX models basic differences:

GLX = base model, m/t, 16 inch wheels, faux wood interior trim

GLS = CVT a/t, 16 inch wheels, fog lights, faux wood interior trim

MX = CVT A/T, paddle shifts, 16 inch wheels, fog lights, faux wood interior trim

GT = M/T, 18 inch wheels, body kit & spoiler, ralliart front bumper, CF interior trim, rockford audio

GT-A = CVT a/t, 18 inch wheels, body kit & spoiler, ralliart front bumper, CF interior trim, rockford audio, auto rain sensing wipers.



NOTE:

-the MX model will differ slightly depending when it was sold. There was a version with front discs & rear drum brakes and another version with front & rear discs brakes. The ones with drum brakes were the earlier models.

-currently the GT model has been discontinued from sale by mitsubishi.

-GT-A model units are still imported CBU units.

-GLX/GLS/MX units are locally assembled.

unfortunately Mitsubishi has stopped selling the Lancer EX GT.

I don't think it's negative feedbacks. I think its due to economics & volume of movement of the Lancer EX models.

The GTA is still imported because there is a steady demand for it as Mitsubishi's top of the line regular consumer compact sedan. The GLX/GLS/MX, which are locally assembled, are enjoying a lower selling price.

Continued import of the GT might strain the budget of mitsubishi to maintain inventory of the Lancer EX. Limiting the models to the CVT equipped model only would cut the required imported inventory by half.

Given the total sales of the Lancer EX since 2008 isn't that spectacular, it is a predictable move by any local car company.

You'll probably enjoy driving the GT because of the power delivery & response.

I enjoyed my back-to-back test drives for both the GT & GTA back in 2008.

But you might have 2nd thoughts on the daily use practicality due to the heavy traffic in metro manila.

from manila kasi me.kaso nasa tarlac ako now. dito ako naka assign sa work.

so ang scenario...every weekends uuwi ako ng manila...long drive...ano pabor dun matic o manual ?

2nd, pag umuuwi ako manila, the reason kaya bibili kami ng kotse ni mrs. kasi madami kami lakad lagi pag nasa manila ako. panay taxi at commute. hehe
kaya naisip ko ano pabor sa manila matic din o manual..

Since most of the time, you'll be spending it in Tarlac and only weekends in Manila, it favors more on the Lancer EX with M/T. So your choice would be between the Lancer EX GLX or Lancer EX GT models.

I used to have a B14/Sentra with SR20 M/T and it was a joy to take it on long drives to places with minimal/low traffic.
