E, kung sinasabi ng TS na at least 5 person, pasok ang lancer 1.6 gls. E pag sumobra? Just bear in mind the term "at least". HIndi na pasok sa comparison ang lancer dahil 5 seater max lang sya?
so, IMO, 5 pax seating - lancer, vios, city, sentra all sedans
above 5 pax seating, avanza, adventure, crosswind.
It would be disadvantageous to compare a sedan against UV, if the passenger requirement is only 5 person. Likewise, its a disadvantage to a sedan if the passenger requirement is above 5 persons.
so my final answer? this is a mismatch

oo nga naman. magkaibang categories. sedan vs MPV.

kung yan ang choices, mag desisyon ka depende sa pangangailangan mo.

yung security features madaling i-compare kahit different type of vehicle.

pero yung engine, 1.6 sedan vs 1.3 MPV. my logic says 1.6 sedan will have better economy.

pero kung ikaw yung tipong mahilig magdala ng madami, mas merong space ang Avanza. the fuel economy may suffer pero it can satisfy your need for space.

ako given the same price, Avanza pipiliin ko dahil mas kelangan ko space at yung ride height. the fuel economy maybe lower than a sedan pero accepted ko na iyon. dadaanin ko na lang sa tamang pag-drive e.g. no sudden acceleration and braking, on-time change oils, proper tire pressure, removal of unnecessary weight inside the car, etc.

so ilista mo muna yung needs at priorities mo regarding sa gusto mong sasakyan.

i am assuming you have already done some homework and that these two are what you have narrowed down your choices to. therefore... hinde! hindi mali ang comparison mo. us users, we don't care if we compare horses with giraffes. we don't care if the comparison is fair or not. all we want is, which will fill our needs better for the money we are willing to pay.. my opinion is to get the avanza. its newer technology should serve you longer and more reliably. unless, of course, if you have special needs..
