kunin ko lang insights nyo. since sa previous thread ko, I'll be getting another car, so I need to dispose of one car para bawas maintenance costs and para magkasya na din sa garahe.

i've mentioned in my other thread that I was assigned a 2011 Montero Sport dito sa office. Option neto is after 4 years, eh mapapasaakin na ito ng buong buo.

i've also mentioned in my other thread that I will be availing of the company's additional benefit which is a car loan. Sayang kasi 50-50 ang share..... For this, we have decided to get na a 2011 Altis G M/T.

yung panghalili ko is a Hyundai Getz 1.1 2007 Model. Although mataas na ang odo reading neto (nasa 150k na), madami na akong pinagawa the past two years and its still in excellent running condition. The Corolla is newly top overhauled and is at around 110k sa odo.

ginagamit ni misis is yung 1999 Corolla Lovelife XE..... pang binata ang porma, naka 15" TOMs rims, TOMS muff, lowered and naka Simota.

Kung kayo ako, ano ang ibebenta nyo?

Yung 07 Getz o yung 99 Corolla XE?

    Pros of retaining the Getz:

    a) Excellent FC
    b) Makinis pa.
    c) Halos bago na lahat. Ang hindi ko na lang napapalitan is yung A/C compressor. Nagpalit na ako ng makina, clutch, brakes, cooling system.

    Cons of retaining the Getz:

    a) Sobrang tagtag ng ride. Although wala namang problema sa suspension. Ganito na talaga ang ride neto dahil sa suspension design.
    b) Resale after lets say, another 3-5 years.

Pros of retaining the 99 Corolla XE

    a) Ganda pa ng condition. Ride quality is really ok pa din.
    b) Its a Toyota

    Cons of retaining the Corolla

    a) Kailangan ng hilamusan ng onti.
    b) Carb type
    c) Medyo mahina humatak compared to the Getz
    d) slightly higher FC than the Getz

Although the selling price of both vehicles is almost the same (around 180k for the Corolla and around 200k for the Getz), parang mas madaling ibenta yung Corolla compared to the Getz, because of the demand and Toyota's reputation.

What would you sell and what would you retain?

    TIA....

Sell both, kukuha ka naman na paps ng bago....

Or retain the getz, bakit ka nga pala nagpalit makina?

can't sell both bro.... kailangan ng backup car din in case nasa repair ang isa.

i got the getz second hand din.... apparently, hindi marunong mag maintain yung ex owner. punong puno ng sludge yung makina, even though alaga sya sa oil change sa akin.

nagkaroon ng overheating problems and nabasag yung engine block. pero oks na sya ngayon..... replaced it with a surplus model 2010 engine.

    i also recommend, sell both.
but if i really have to retain one, i'd retain the getz. it's newer. and it's probably easier to sell the toyota (because it's a toyota).

Sell both, assuming you can sell both for a total of 350k. You can buy a small car for 50% DP already. Yun nga lang magsasabay bayad sa Altis and the new small car kung sakaling ififinance both.

    thanks for the insights.
gaya nga ng sinabi ko, i can only sell one..... can't afford to get another one na merong financing din.
talked to commander last night, she is quite in agreement to keep the getz.

IMHO, hard to let go of the Toyota, but given the inventory already has an Altis which is same class as the Lovelife, getting rid of the Toyota will broaden your range in terms of engine displacement and fuel consumption i.e. Montero (when you want to go big/longhaul purposes), Altis (daily comfort drive) Getz (daily drive "tipid mode"). My two sentimos.

Benta mo nga nalang pareho mahirap maintain pag ganyan base sa kwento mo.

Much better kuha ka new car like jazz o Subaru Xv mas pogi at pang binata.

    Bro.,- congrats.

Balita ko kasi,- pinasabog mo ang makina ng Getz mo sa sobrang hataw e...

    So, you will have either:

MS (Mitsubishi) + Altis (Toyota) + Getz (Hyundai)

    or

    MS (Mitsubishi) + Altis (Toyota) + Lovelife(Toyota)

So, ang labanan lang ay practicality of owning either the 99Lovelife or the 07Getz.... Almost the same selling price na ngayon.... Sa akin,- mas okay i-maintain ang Getz...

150TKm for Getz (malamang palitan na ang compressor because of the vintage); 110TKm for the Lovelife? (hilamos na ang katapat)

I'd go with the Getz bro,.... Mas modelo,- Mas maliit for your pangharabas....

Looks also good in your garage - walang brand loyalty (like this person... )
