My mind is telling me Vios/City but my heart says Accent..

I think it was ford which introduced it first (VGT) but yung crdi na vgt parang Toyota or Isuzu.

as far as i know sir... mga starex po at santa fe naunang lumabas na may VGT... kahit po yung chevrolet captiva with VCDi (Variable Geometry Turbo Charger Common Rail Diesel Injection) is developed by GM Daewoo, a south korean automobile manufacturer. so it's safe to say na koreans po nag introduce ng VGT sa market natin.

I understand that there are still risks in every purchase, ika nga walang kotseng perpekto. That's why I don't like what I'm hearing from my friend, na pinapalabas niya perperkto yung mga Japanese cars. Yun suspension nga ang parati niyang pinupuna sa Korean cars, which from what I'm reading so far is mukhang dating problema yun na naayos na ngayon. Anyway, thanks again guys for all the inputs! I really appreciate all the suggestions from a car noob such as me

naiwan na utak ng mga friends mo to '90s, Korean made cars are now at par if not better than Japanese made cars.

and the same thing will happen to the Chinese made cars, pinagtatawanan ngayon pero after a couple years..sisikat na rin sila

may issue po ba ang Denso? very ironic naman samantalang Denso Corporation of Japan was the first to manufacture the CRDi engines for Hino Trucks

Nothing is perfect. Even modern Korean cars have their issues. Bushings, engine mounts, electronics. But this is the same as Japanese cars... the unfortunate Honda EP, with its gas tank straps, cam position sensor, etcetera... First-generation Jazz "kalampag", loose wiring and build quality issues... as well as the infamous CVT and CVTF finagle... Nissan Sentra (the old one) alternators and AC issues (Calsonic = fragile crap, and the alternator is undersized)... Mitsubishi electronics, such as IACV (which also affects Mazda...since they use Mitsu electronics on some of their cars)... the Toyota Altis... with the engine sludge issues... the D4D issue (though the last two, medyo related to maintenance and fuel naman)

That fuel issue is why I don't consider fuel-induced knock an issue... see the thread about a Toyota Innova experiencing hesitation due to poor gasoline... I've experienced a lot of bad things in various cars due to poor fuel... and the answer is simple. Change gas stations, d'oh.

No car is perfect. Hyundai isn't the best in terms of reliability, but they're not the worst, anymore... more like midpack. And they have killer warranties. ;)

If only walang issues yung 1.4 Accent, i would've recommended it.

*SG: yung sa Accent 1.4 ba, A/T lang ba ang may issue o damay din ang M/T?
OA naman niya. Our Crosswind, Sentra and Vanette all had AC problems within the first two years. We kept them, kahit medyo masakit yung price of AC repair on the Crosswind.

If that's the case, I assume the knocking issue on the new Accents can be "solved" by changing gas stations too?
