Now I made up my mind to buy the Getz 1.4L AT. Hyundai Pasig price is 578k, insurance, chattel mortgage fee and 3yrs LTO registration were waived. Am getting it on in-house financing 20% downpayment (115,600) balance 16,712 per month for 3 years.

Ok na ba yung deal na yon? Will test drive next week before making the down payment. They say delivery is 2-3 days after.

Test drove the new Vios yesterday at Market Market. The base model which is really bare (pang taxi) is 575k. Decided to stick with the Getz although I hope they don't introduce a new model soon. Also prefer a hatchback than sedan.
Why not get the Getz CRDi?

    * philoilman: Sir, kindly update me on your 1.4L A/T Getz. I'm planning to get one din in Nov-Dec.

Kailangan ko kse A/T (easier for my wife) na super tipid. Gusto ko sana yung Matrix CRDI kaya lang manual sya. Ok din Getz CRDi kaya lang manual din. I'm still choosing between the Picanto AT vs Getz AT and I have yet to see the Yaris AT.

The Yaris AT costs a lot... it's on the high end of 700k, pushing close to 800k (easily over 800k when you factor in insurance and etcetera...).

It's definitely fuel efficient for a 1.5, and possibly more efficient than the Getz 1.4 AT (and faster, at that), but the extra cost of the vehicle might offset any gas savings.

    It's very roomy, though.

Bought the 1.4 AT last October 9. I'm quite satisfied with it. My wife insisted on the ebony black which is nice but gets really hot in the sun compared to lighter colors, the AC however is quite adequate even under such condition.

Just consumed the first tankful of gas. Consumption was 7.1 km/l city driving. This is following suggested breaking in procedure. They say avoid idling longer than 3 min and keep engine rpm varying preferably between 2-4k rpm. So in really bad traffic I'm revving the engine while in neutral an sometimes drive in "2" rather than "D" to keep the rpm high enough otherwise the rpm barely goes above 2k rpm in normal city driving on "D".

Will post further comments after putting more mileage on the getz. Highly recommend it. Would have preferred the CRDI if there was an AT variant. I don't fancy anymore the legwork required driving an MT in city traffic and of course my wife loves driving an AT although she has driven in India a MT Maruti (Suzuki) van.

    i read getz 1.4 a/t only reaches 7-8 kilometers to a liter.
hindi ata kaaya aya ito for a subcompact car.
Parang ito yun fuel consumption ng audi ko dati ah.

i had thoughts in getting a getz pa naman.
(automatic lang for me, hindi ako marunong mag manual kaya hndi pde yun 1.1 variant ng getz)

Hi wonderloo: it depends on your route. I have an 05 getz (1.3 A/T) and 99 honda lxi (a/t) both are running the same FC.... 7-8 KM/L... Sa trapik ngayon... I travelled short distances kaya siguro mababa ang FC ng mga kotse ko.

Automatics always get poor mileage in the city.

Still, the Getz 1.4 AT isn't as fuel efficient as the Honda City 1.3 CVT or even the Toyota Vios 1.3 AT. Expect it to get about 1 - 2 km/l less than either of the Japanese cars in typical use.
