Hi, im a MX 1.6li 2004 user. we just bought it, its been almost 2 months already. Me and my fiancee love it soo much! an all over nice ride. fuel consumption is adequate. about 10 to 13 L/per Km.(depends on how you drive it and where) a bit high I guess cuz im used to driving motorcycles and pickups. Im 5'10" and well rounded. wink wink... and still the leg room is great. I think a normal sized filipina woman would feel like shes in a resort once inside. We are soo spoiled with it. really comfy. I travel all around. from cavite, manila, makati, ortigas and alabang. I dont feel harrassed and tired after driving.

Its a hoot to drive! great acceleration especially with the sportronic (some would think that its better to overtake with it than a manual tranny). I overtake a lot kase. response is tight. the back seats are also really comfy and spacious. the biege color of the all leather seats adds more visual space to the whole compartment (I real pain to clean thou). Im not a big fan of the wood paneling thou, cuz i dont think i look 40 yet.

I might seem biased now but I've done my research fair share of research, ive seen and drove a ford RS(really good car, phased out na),

focus(OK din, decent sedan),

mazda 3(Astig Tignan Factor, Pangit dash console dahil built-in cd player),

Altis type S(Lolo na nagsuot ng pambagets, everyone has one, ginaya ford RS),

VIOS (you can see one at every corner! masakit na sa mata at medyo pango),

Susuki APV (Ganda tignan! a bit underpowered for me as an 8 people carrier)

Susuki SWIFT(wow sa styling, all japan made kaya mahal, kulang sa room)

other subcompacts (mga mukang pagong at ipis)

and all the major pickups(sadly not within budget, sayang konti nalang 4x4 STRADA na sana kunin namin).


We decided based on of the competitive pricing, styling, and more than adequate specs. We got it for 805k. discounted na sya original was 850++ i think. still paid 860K cuz of insurance and other stuff. Comparatively you could get a Top of the Line Mitsu MX with all the fat an trimmings for a few thousand more than getting lets say a Basic Mazda 3 model w/c is still two levels away from the best version. Its really a good buy since its top of the line and really safe to drive with its front and back discbrakes, dual airbags etc.. you cant go wrong with buying an MX. sayang limited lang yung 1.8 MX. Also another deciding factor is Konti lang meron lancer MX sa daan compared to the big gorilla car distributors and makers autos. hmmn... on second thought huwag nalang MX kunin mo baka dumami pa magkaroon...hehehe

If you decide against the MX I say get a proper car that will still look like a car in like a couple of years. I dont think the chunky stubby styling is gonna last when it comes to cars. (maybe except for the swift and mini cooper) As for me, dont get a subcompact, youll need the room for your family or friends you owe it to them to be comfortable in your ride. and ohh the new car smell with new car leather... ahhh...heaven! Also, youll need the extra boost pag sanay na sanay ka na. Trust me, you'll feel the need for speed on the highway.

Arrange for a test drive first. PM me if youd like to. its really easy. I can refer you to the guy that sold me my MX. Hes really nice and not in your face about buying the car unlike most. Kala nya nga hindi ko kukunin ang car.
