I thought they were upgrading the Grandia's engine to a 3.0L D-4D (which is still a detuned version of the Fortuner's engine).

Ride on the Commuter is bad. Very choppy, and tight inside. Wish they brought over the bubble top, Grandia-sized Commuter. That would be big and relatively comfy.

I had the lower leaf springs replaced with one without rubber.

Matulin naman talaga commuter pero somewhere in between 130-150kph mawawalan na ng hininga at babagal na umakyat yun speed

Problem with the 11/12 seater GS is lahat ng rows ng seats eh pwede i-move forward and backward. Pwede i-maximize yun legroom pero sacrifice yun luggage compartment.

Sa Super G naman, sobra luwag nung legroom for captain seats pero yun last 2 rows medyo masikip. Ang okay sa Super G is mataas yung last row kaya kahit naka baba, kasya mga maliit na maleta sa ilalim ng upuan.

Personally I'd still choose the GS for the comfort and engine power.

Mas matipid naman sa crudo yung Super G. May GL Grandia kami before, nasa 9km/L ave. sa city drive.

what i dont like about the SG is the engine (not vgt) parang bitin pag puno and pag oovertake. pero yung space sa loob at malaki compare sa SG

by nextweek hopefully makuha na namin yung GS cvx premium vdc srf from hancars. compare sa gs gold ang daming accesories sa hancars compare sa local unit

Hindi mahirap tantyahin ang Grand Starex. Maiksi lang hood nun. Mas madali siya isngit para sa akin.
Sa engine? Maganda rin ang Engine ng Grand Starex. Same old D4CB pero VGT siya. Almost the samr parts from the previous CRDi models, pero may mga nadagdag na components. Overall Grand Starex talaga lamang. Legroom issue? Di naman. Kahit di ka mag cross legs comfortable upuan ng Grand Starex lalo kung may budget ka go for Grey Market units.

No offense meant, pag yung Hiace namin dala ko napapagkamalan akong family driver minsan

Am not sure if i posted this before... sa palawan kasi the SG is the mostly used type of van by their tourism industry. Nakausap ko yung drivers/operators association president nila kasi sya mismo ang nag drive para sa amin noon at ito ang kanyang take sa SG... pinakamatipid daw sa lahat at mura ang pms kumpara sa urvan at starex. Given that palawan has hilly roads likewise hindi raw bitin sa akyatan.
That's why at the end of the day i've called palawan an SG country.
I'm convinced to get an SG against the more refined GS if i were to use as people mover.

*Silvio_12: Good luck in your decision, sir.

Haha. The process of you loving the GL Grandia will be hastened once you dress it up. Andami kong nakikitang naka pormang GL Grandia and wow, maganda sila. Meron akong nakakasabay sa C5 Julia Vargas area na GL Grandia, one is monotone and the other is 2 tone, ang ganda ng pagka setup nila. Very clean. And their shoes are just right for the Hiace. Parang ung gamit ng Fortuner ngayon or Hilux. They also put spoiler and back up sensors. Ang ganda tignan.

*Power_Ranger: I have done a full tank method with my SG and nasa 8.x+ kms/liter siya in the city. I haven't done that method ever since. Every time I plan in doing that, napa fill up nanaman. And walang onboard FC reading ang SG so there is no way to determine instantly.

*ron123w124: Yes sir, ron, it's really hard to climb the front seats of the SG. Pag medyo mahina ka, hindi ka makakaakyat. Kaya pag puno kami, ang umuupo doon ay medyo bagets pa.hehe

Ang ganda ng new Aphard, I've seen one in Global City when I went to St. Luke's. I really admire that van kaso wala akong ganon kadaming disposable income to buy a van at that price. Or kung meron man, practicality will hinder me from buying it. Ang mahal kasi.

*Gumusut_Amige: Anong gamit nilang SG sa Palawan, sir, fabric or leather? I've ridden in an SG fabric coz that was the service vehicle of our hotel in Boracay.

Sa mga out of town trips, mostly Commuter or the GL Grandia ang gamit nilang vans. Im not surprised if the Hiace is an all time favorite rental van in the country. From north to south, talagang in demand as a people mover. It has enough power to do the job yet maximizing your profit with its cheap and low maintenance.
